"Hey guys," I video called my family and smiled when they all appeared in the small frame. " Just wanted to see how you were doing," we talked for a while and mom brought up boyfriends again.
"Where are you guys headed? Looked like your in the car," I looked at the picture.
"We were going to surprise you. I was hoping your boyfriend would stop by for dinner," I frowned.
"Boyfriend? What boyfriend?" I remembered when BFF/N and her boyfriend came over the last time I called them. "I don't have one. That was my friend's boyfriend, not mine," mom ignored me of course.
"Tell him to eat dinner with us," mom hung up and I groaned in frustration, hitting my arm on the wall accidentally. I sat at the table and laid my head down. BFF/N called and I told her the situation.
"Don't know what to tell you," someone knocked on the door and I told BFF/N I would call her later. I opened the door and C/N, who lived a few doors down from me, was standing there.
"They have me some of your mail accidentally and just wanted to bring it to you," he handed me the bills and I asked him to come inside. He awkwardly walked inside.
"Do you have plans tonight and are you single? I know it's weird coming from your neighbor," he shrugged.
"No for both," I explained the situation and he agreed to be my fake boyfriend.
"Thank you for agreeing to this. I owe you one. come around 6pm tonight," he nodded and left. I called and told BFF/N the news.
"This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. You managed to ask your crush out halfway," I rolled my eyes. "What are you going to make?"
"Don't know yet. Got any suggestions?"
"(favorite food)?" I looked at the clock.
"That's a great idea. Thanks BFF/N," I hung up and started cooking. Someone knocked on the door a while later. "Come in," the door opened and shut and someone walked behind me.
"What are you making?"
"(favorite food)," he smiled.
"That's my favorite food. How did you know?"
"It's my favorite food too," there was a series of knocks and the door flew open. My younger siblings attacked me and I stepped away from the stove. "You guys are early," I looked at the time and saw they were half an hour early.
"They couldn't wait to see you," I hugged my parents.
"I'm going to go change. Don't terrorize C/N," I went to my room and changed into a nice dress and took my hair down. I walked out and served the food. My baby sister hung onto my leg and I picked her up. I twirled us around and she giggled. "Dinner is ready," I yelled and the bowls were already on the table. We ate and the interrogation began.
"How long have you guys been dating?"
"A few weeks," C/N answered immediately. I rolled my eyes and cleared the table while my parents asked him questions.
"What do you think about her?"
"There isn't really one thing to describe her. She amazing, smart, beautiful, and a fantastic cook," I was glad for the separated rooms because I blushed. My baby sister came into the room and I sat in the floor with her. I picked her up and went to the living room with the rest of my siblings.
"Lover boy looks different from the last video chat. Did you break up with the other guy already?" One of my brothers asked and I pushed him over.
"That was my best friend's boyfriend, not C/N. We weren't even dating at that time," after a while, my siblings went to sleep and my parents left with them. I yawned and turned off the tv. "Thanks, C/N. Did you have fun getting interrogated?" He nodded and sat beside me.
"I don't think this is going to work a second time," he leaned back and I looked over at him.
"What do you mean?"
"Will you be my real girlfriend?" I nodded and he wrapped an arm around me. "If it counts for something, everything I said about you tonight was true and I saw you blushing. The mirror on your fridge was at the perfect angle for that," he pulled me close to him. I yawned again and my eyes drifted closed.
C/N POV
My phone buzzed and I answered the call. "Hello."
"I just wanted to let you know that we got home okay. You're still at Y/N's apartment?" I looked around and saw my phone beside me.
"Apparently. I'll pass the message along to Y/N when she wakes up," I hung up and picked up my phone. I stood and took her to her room. I set her down and she refused to let me go. I looked at her and she pouted.
"Please stay," she yawned and I crawled beside her.
"Your parents called and told me that they are home," she nodded and dug herself into my chest. I smiled and went back to sleep.
