Chapter 20:
Kyle slowly gets up, keeping eye contact, trying not to blink. The wimp is afraid of me. I am no wimp, I may be small but I have great power. I would quarrel with you, however I have a small dilemma. You, as you have recently learned, are the chosen one. Don’t ask me what I mean, you will know when the time comes. Don’t try to get information out of me, I know barely more than you. Yes, I lied but I didn’t want you to believe I was a threat. I mean no harm to you, Owen. I wish to help you. You NEED to find your power ASAP. I shall help you.
“You speak in minds too?”
“Only ones that are compatible. Because you are the chosen one, anyone can communicate with you. As well as possibly see into your mind, fair warning.”
“Please don’t.”
“Hard not to, but I’ll try, mate.”
“Thanks. Friends again?”
“We never were friends,” He teased, smiling at me.
“Then enemies,” I teased back, twirling, pointing my sword at him.
“Actually, I prefer friends.”
“As do I,” I whispered.
