Summary: When Yelena and Natasha come to take care of Lila, Nate, and Cooper for the weekend so Clint and Laura can have some time to themselves, Yelena is somewhat nervous and Natasha is excited beyond belief. Yelena's worries slowly fade away and Natasha is even more fond of her kids after a weekend of fun and aggravation in which Yelena gets to know the kids even better and Natasha gets to spend time with some of her favorite people in the world.
"Alright, guys, the poser will be coming in at any minute. Is everything perfectly set up?"
"Yep," Lila replied with a smile, and Cooper nodded as he looked around at all of the cushions piled around in perfect forts. Yelena smiled, nodding resolutely as she gazed at their handiwork.
Cooper had the wonderful idea for the group to have a nerf gun battle, and he had waited until Natasha had started washing dishes before he told Yelena in secret. Yelena had naturally been entirely in favor of the idea, so she wasted no time in dragging in the other two kids and getting them to help her and Cooper make pillow forts for two different teams.
"Okay, so it's all just right, and now she has no choice but to agree to it," Yelena told the three of them. Nate smiled widely at her and Yelena could not help her grin in reply as she leaned down and ruffled his hair affectionately.
"What are you guys doing in here?" a voice suddenly piped up with a chuckle, and Yelena looked up with a wild grin, feeling her heart swell as she caught sight of her big sister standing in the doorway looking at the group. Natasha leaned against the doorframe, taking in the sight of the room.
Yelena looked over at Cooper and Lila before she gazed back at Natasha, her smile growing even larger as she proudly held up a nerf gun and showed it off to the redhead.
"Well, we're about to have a nerf gun fight," Yelena declared, and Lila hurried past Yelena to bring Natasha the largest gun out of their entire stash. Yelena's eyes went wide as she gaped at the girl. Natasha smirked as she took it, raising an eyebrow with that mischief that was so typical of Natasha.
"What the— I thought we agreed that I got the big one?!" Yelena cried, and Lila just grinned sheepishly at Yelena. Natasha reached forward and cupped Lila's cheek lovingly, and Yelena felt a slight flare of aggravation within her.
"I'm sorry, Yelena," Lila apologized, and Yelena rolled her eyes as she huffed in irritation, holding the second biggest gun in her hand.
"Just for that, you're not on my team," Yelena pouted as she knelt down and opened her arm to Nate. He held onto her tightly and she hoisted him up onto her hip as she pointed at Natasha and Lila with her gun.
"This is my number one partner," Yelena declared, and Nate giggled happily as he wrapped his arms around her neck. Yelena then looked back at Cooper, wrapping her gun-clad arm around his shoulders. He moved beside her slightly uncomfortably and Yelena nodded her head defiantly.
"And this is my other number one partner," Yelena announced, and Natasha just smirked, looking over at the blonde before glancing at Lila who was gazing at her adoringly.
"So you wanna play, Aunt Nat?" Lila asked hopefully, and Yelena almost smiled at the fact that Lila had learned the puppy-dog eyes from the last time that Yelena and Natasha visited the group. It almost took away Yelena's aggravation that Lila was playing favorites so terribly and that she was taking up her sister's attention so much. Natasha just grinned widely and shrugged easily.
"Us against them?" Natasha questioned softly, holding her hand up. Lila wasted no time in grinning widely in reply, smacking her hand against Natasha's and clasping their fingers together.
"They don't stand a chance," Lila replied confidently, and Yelena rolled her eyes heavily, putting Nate down on the floor.
"Okay... So let's talk the wager," Yelena spoke up, interrupting Lila and Natasha in their moment. Natasha looked to her, stepping up closer as she tilted her head slightly. Yelena moved closer to Natasha, a smirk growing as she thought of the perfect idea.
"Let's say that... The winners get bragging rights, and the losers have to rub the winners' feet," Yelena declared boldly, and Natasha just quirked an eyebrow with a slight smirk. Yelena victoriously noted how Lila looked slightly worried as she glanced between Yelena and Natasha.
"And the winners determine who rubs whose feet," Yelena finished, and Natasha laughed a little, shaking her head.
"Okay."
"Are you sure?" Lila questioned, leaning in close to Natasha as she nervously gazed at the redhead.
"Sure. We can win against her any day," Natasha confidently told her before looking Yelena in the eyes. Yelena scoffed slightly, reaching over and grabbing a gun to hand to Lila as she kept her gaze locked onto Natasha's.
"You better be glad that we're not playing Monopoly," Yelena quipped, and Natasha huffed lightly in return, unaffected by Yelena's words. Yelena found the excitement rising within her at the idea of getting the opportunity to shoot Natasha in a non-harmful manner.
Of course, the chance to win at anything always thrilled Yelena anyway.
"Alright, assume your positions!" Yelena called, and Natasha headed over to her fort with Lila. Yelena hurried over to her side with Nate and Cooper, the three of them kneeling down behind the pillows.
"Three!" Yelena shouted.
"Two!" Natasha replied, and Yelena could not help the wild smile pulling at her lips.
"One!" Yelena yelled, and there was a silence for a moment as she awaited Natasha's finishing call.
"Go!" Natasha finally yelled, and Yelena swiftly ducked down as she barely avoided Natasha's foam bullet that came flying at her head swiftly. Yelena grinned as she lifted her gun over the edge of the pillows and unloaded several rounds at the small bit of red hair that she could see poking up.
She laughed as Natasha quickly avoided the bullets, and Yelena narrowed her eyes in concentration as she saw Natasha moving to the side of the fort to aim at Cooper and shoot him. Yelena swiftly shot at Natasha, and the redhead dipped her head back behind the fort to avoid Yelena's bullets.
Yelena quickly reloaded, realizing that she had emptied her supply of bullets in her gun.
She took hold of Nate as he tried to shoot at Lila, and Yelena grabbed his shoulders, lowering him so that he was less of a target. It was obvious that Lila and Natasha were having mercy on the little boy because he was so young and not able to play too well.
"Lean down like this, and aim your gun," Yelena directed, helping him aim the gun. Natasha swiftly shot a nerf bullet far too close to Yelena's face, and Yelena narrowed her eyes, pointing at the redhead.
"Fowl! I'm trying to teach the kid how to shoot," Yelena declared, and Natasha just smirked.
"Do you really think I would have missed if I was actually aiming on hitting you?" Natasha asked with a raise of her eyebrow before disappearing back behind the protection provided by her fort. Yelena rolled her eyes before helping the boy aim at Lila whose foot was sticking out from behind the fort.
"Look for an opening and shoot where you can," Yelena instructed softly, helping him pull the trigger.
The two of them barely missed, and Lila yelped as she realized her foot was exposed for the shooting. Yelena laughed victoriously and quickly ducked as she saw Natasha raising back up to shoot once again.
After several more shots were fired, Yelena then spotted Lila raising up just a little to shoot at Cooper after a few moments. Yelena quickly dove for it, shooting Lila in the shoulder just as Cooper shot at her. They both landed their hits, and Lila let out a noise of protest as she put down her gun with a pout.
"Good luck, Aunt Nat!" Lila wished but Yelena quickly yelled before the girl could head to the other side of the room.
"You've got to act out your death scene!" Yelena called, peeking through a hole between the cushions, and Lila looked terribly awkward as she sighed a little, glancing over at Natasha. Natasha must have given her some manner of encouragement, because Lila nodded a little before acting out her death scene not as dramatically as Yelena would have liked. As Lila sunk to the floor, Yelena scoffed.
"What was that?! You call that a death scene?!" Yelena cried, and Lila giggled from her place on the floor, and Yelena rolled her eyes. Lila started to try to get up, but Yelena quickly shouted a protest.
"What do you think you're doing?! You're dead! Dead people don't get up! This isn't the Walking Dead!" Yelena cried, and Lila just collapsed back onto the floor with way too many giggles. Yelena huffed in response.
"Amateur," Yelena grumbled.
"Amateur," Nate repeated the word with a frown, and Yelena felt her heart swell a bit with fondness. Yelena patted his back fondly.
"Exactly," Yelena agreed, and she leaned over to Cooper as a plan began to formulate inside her head.
"Alright, so my suggestion is that we send Nate to sneak up behind the poser and blast her. We'll keep her distracted her up front," Yelena told him.
"Got it," Cooper nodded as he raised up to shoot at Natasha and keep her somewhat occupied and distracted. Yelena then looked to Nate and the boy smiled up at her.
"Okay, myshka... Go and sneak up behind Auntie Nat and shoot her, okay? Try to shoot her butt, but shooting her anywhere will work," Yelena told him, and Nate nodded mischievously at the idea of shooting his aunt.
"Alright... Go around the back of the couches and crawl up on her," Yelena ushered him, and he wasted no time in complying with her directions. Yelena then raised her gun barely to blast away at Natasha.
"Oooh, poser?!" Yelena tauntingly called her, and she could hear Natasha's laugh from behind her fort's walls.
"Yes, rooskaya?" Natasha replied, and Yelena grinned like a madwoman. She might be determined to win, but she was having the time of her life engaging in a battle of the skills with her sister. Simply getting to spend time with Natasha was a blessing to Yelena.
"I expect to cash in on our wager as soon as we finish this up," Yelena informed her, and Natasha chuckled wickedly.
"Sure. I hope you remembered to pack my favorite lotion. It'll help me relax even more while you're rubbing my feet," Natasha replied, leaning up to shoot at Yelena quickly. Yelena ducked, glancing to the side as she spotted Nate sneaking up behind Natasha.
Yelena moved upward to shoot several more times at Natasha, and Cooper joined in with her, catching the wordless signal to distract Natasha more thoroughly. Lila was just laying there on the ground watching the bullets flying and not really paying attention to where Nate was creeping up on Natasha.
However, Yelena and Cooper quickly stopped as Nate shot his nerf bullet directly against Natasha's butt. Natasha's eyes went wide as she shot up and looked behind her. Nate laughed like a maniac, and Yelena cackled, raising up from behind her cover as she shot Natasha in the chest over her heart. Natasha narrowed her eyes as she looked at Yelena.
"Alright, sestra. You know what time it is. Go ahead and die already," Yelena waved encouragingly, and Natasha sighed deeply, looking down at Nate who was gazing up at her expectantly. Natasha rolled her eyes before clutching dramatically at her chest and making all sorts of pained, strangled sounds. She then grabbed her behind where Nate had blasted her and she collapsed on her knees before falling over on the floor next to Lila and making one last defeated noise. She then totally went limp.
"How was that?" Natasha asked after a moment, peeking her eye open to look at Yelena.
"Perfect! But you're a poser, so we expect nothing less," Yelena declared, and Natasha narrowed her eyes with a huff. Yelena started to kick her shoes off as she smirked widely, glancing up at Cooper.
"Now that all of that is over, we're ready for our foot rubs," Yelena declared, her eyes on Natasha. As soon as she had made the bet for the foot rubs, she had already decided that she was claiming Natasha for her foot rub. After all, it was a perfect excuse to get Natasha to give her some one-on-one attention and affection that Yelena so craved.
Of course, Yelena would rather die than admit that to Natasha's face.
"I pick poser to do mine. What about you, Cooper Scooper?" Yelena questioned with a cackle as she accidentally thought of a new name for him. He winced a little, not happy with the name, and Yelena just laughed even more loudly at his face.
However, as he looked between the two possible foot rubbers, he smirked as he pointed to Lila. Lila let out some horrid noise between a scream and a gag, and Yelena and Cooper were soon both laughing wickedly. Nate hurried over to Yelena, grabbing at her pants, and Yelena bent down to see him.
"Who do you want to rub your feet? Lila or Auntie Nat?" Yelena asked him, and he looked between Lila and Natasha before pointing at Natasha with a wide smile. Yelena chuckled a bit, tickling his side before starting to hoist her cushions back on the couch. Cooper helped her out, and before long, all of the cushions were back in their proper positions and Cooper and Yelena were eagerly awaiting their foot rubs.
Natasha sighed as she approached Yelena's couch that she had chosen, and Lila was already gagging from where she was with Cooper on the other couch. Cooper was laughing way too much at his younger sister.
Nate clambered up onto Yelena's lap, sitting there happily as he played with the cars he had found in his room while they got the cushions ready. Yelena just smiled widely as she looked at Natasha. Natasha raised an eyebrow, but sat down with just a small smile as she patted her lap. Yelena quickly placed her feet in Natasha's lap.
As soon as they were there, Natasha wrinkled her nose.
"Eww... Your feet are disgusting!" Natasha declared, and Yelena smirked before raising up her toes to try to touch Natasha's face with her sweaty feet. Natasha swatted them away, holding them down on her lap, and Yelena cackled.
"Who said that your feet smelled like roses, huh, Natashka?" Yelena asked, and Natasha rolled her eyes before starting to massage Yelena's feet. Yelena immediately melted at the attentions, closing her eyes with a noise of contentment. She sunk down into the couch happily, just focusing on Natasha's hands skillfully digging into her feet and alleviating tension that she had not even realized was there.
Yelena sighed happily, relaxing more completely than she had since the day before they got there when Natasha had been gently tickling her bare back and tracing patterns.
However, she was quickly distracted by Lila suddenly letting loose with a really loud gag as she took off running through the house to the nearest toilet. Natasha and Yelena shared a glance, and Natasha hurried after her to help hold her hair back from the inevitable vomiting about to occur.
Yelena and Cooper met gazes after a few moments. As soon as they did, they both burst into loud laughter.
"COOPER!!!!!" Lila screeched from the other room in the midst of retching.
They then just laughed harder.
