This one starts with a basketball game.
Jisoo is benched before the end of the 3rd quarter of her final senior year game so she can rest for the last quarter, her eyes scanned the crowd hoping to spot a certain blond girl- and there she is
Park Chaeyoung and all her glory cheering for their school, beside her is one of the schools 'badass' Lisa Manoban who couldn't care less about the game but is watching her long time girlfriend Jennie Kim on the cheerleading side
Jisoo feels a little breathless, not because she dropped a high school record of 30 points three quarters into the game but because she's looking at an actual goddess, she was shaken off her reverie when the bell rang that signals the end of the 3rd quarter
Jeon Somi, one of her team mates settles beside her with a grin, "if we win this game you should ask Park Chaeyoung out" Somi says a little bit too loud that made their entire team holler at her
"Shut up" she warns, "Focus on the game so we could win"
The group shuts up and listen to their coach make plays and spit out a couple of motivational words, not like those work on Jisoo all the motivation she needs is standing 20 feet away from where she is right now
God, Jisoo focus on the freaking game!
When the 4th quarter started Jisoo totall went off on the opposing team, she dropped another 10 points within 5 minutes and the crowd goes wild after she shot a three from deep
she can't help but look over at Chaeyoung at the girl is smiling and cheering for her, their eyes met for a second then she's back to the game, 78-65 and last minute of the game everyone knew who the champions was but that doesn't make it hurt any less
That's why 30 seconds remaining and Somi created the perfect play to isolate Jisoo on the three point line but seconds before Jisoo leapt in the air and let go of the ball she was tackled to the ground by an opposing player who doesn't seem to be happy with the loss
The collision was brutal and had Jisoo writhing in pain on the ground, Somi pushed the girl off her and that started a brawl between the two teams, Seulgi one of her team mates and the most level headed among all of them tried to break up the fight which didn't help but the teachers and coaches were pretty quick and break the two teams off
"you okay?" one the school nurses asks
"my ribs area is a little sore" she says and winced when she tried to move
The nurse ran her hands on her rib area analyzing the injured area, "no broken bones but it will have one hell of a bruise later"
"cool" she says but winced again
after she shot her free throws the game went on until the final buzzer goes off and the crowd cheered loudly at their win
A body collides with her and tackled her to the ground they both landed with an omph, she was about to lash out because they may have won the game but her ribs hurt like hell
"What the Fu-" she didn't get to finish her words because Park Freaking Chaeyoung is hugging her right now
"congratulations on the win" the blond says a little too breathless
"thanks" Jisoo says, she thinks the pain in her rib area is worth it if Chaeyoung keeps on looking at her like that
They get up the ground and was separated by her team mates because of the traditional picture taking and awarding
"and for the most valuable player award...Jisoo Kim" her team mates practically shoved her to the stand and started chanting speech
"Um- I don't have anything to say really" she says as she looks into her award, "Basketball has been one of the high school highlights and in this sport I found a new family and friends and I always find a way to get excused in MATH class" her team mates cheered at that
"basketball gave me chance to be confident in what I do, and in that confidence may I ask Park Chaeyoung on a date tonight? let's skip the whole traditional team celebration and just have a dinner at that downtown resto we both like"
The cheers and screams were a little deafening but it was worth it when she sees the blond blush ever so lightly and then nods, she does a victory dance in her head and steps down the podium

Jisoo changed and showered but her Mom insisted she rest home because of her huge-now-purple-colored bruise and as much she wants to disobey her parents she knew they won't understand so she looks for Chaeyoung and apologizes because she can't go out tonight
The girl looks disappointed but did a good job at hiding it, she however congratulates Jisoo and then gives her a kiss on the cheek before scurrying off to her hollering friends who witnessed the whole thing
She's now grouching on the sofa, some cheesy netflix movie playing on their flat screen, popcorn in hand and ice cream slowly melting on the table. Jisoo Kim is wallowing away and what is worse is that her parents aren't even home, being two successful business owners requires them to travel out of the country more often to actually make them present in her life so Jisoo Kim is all alone on the victory night of her final high school game
She eyes the MVP award sitting on the trophy case her father had brought her to display all of her accomplishments, it was almost full thanks to the various best actress award she bagged throughout high school plus her sports awards
Jisoo lets out deep sigh, she stands up and goes to the kitchen to cook herself a fancy dinner, injured and alone but that doesn't mean she can't have a nice dinner by herself

Five minutes before her food is done somebody had pressed the doorbell, suppressing a groan she went to the front door muttering, "Somi if this is you, you're dead"
it didn't occur to Jisoo to check the peep hole or put decent clothes, she's wearing a black apron over a sports bra but she looks good enough to make the girl in front her blush when she abruptly opens the door
Park Chaeyoung is standing in front of her, a box of pizza and fries on her hand
"Hey..." the girl says awkwardly
Jisoo stares at her for a good minute before shaking her head and letting the girl in, "Sorry, I'm a little bit out of it" she apologizes
"sorry for coming unannounced" Chaeyoung says sheepishly, "I knew you we're alone and all and we don't have to go out for the date... we could just- stay here.."
Jisoo would be laughing at how shy the girl was in front of her right now but she was too damn entranced, "I would love that"
and just on time the oven alarm goes off and Jisoo rushed into the kitchen and Chaeyoung's laugh echoes around the house
Later, Jisoo will send Chaeyoung to the sofa refusing help as she sets up a candlelit dinner on her backyard, they will eat and talk about things high school students talk about on their first date, she finds out that Chaeyoung cries over yummy foods and Jisoo can't help but swoon at that
They will enjoy the reheated pizza and fries as they watch a cheesy rom-com on Netflix on the couch, Jisoo will be totally elated and forgets that Somi is her neighbor and has a perfect view on the candlelit dinner they had, and Somi being- well her, she takes a pic of the two sharing an expensive wine that Jisoo got on her parent's wine cellar, the future basketball captain posts the picture on twitter with the caption: Chaesoo in the house!! our captain getting some tonight!
Jennie, Lisa, and most of the school population retweets it but the two wouldn't find out until they wake after dozing off after the fifth episode of riverdale, they didn't get some but it was one of the most memorable nights of Jisoo Kim's life
Way later, she will revisit that memory as she says her wedding vows, "That night went incredibly well except when Jeongyeon fucking tackled me to the ground" the crowd who knew her since high school laughs and from the crowd a "sorry!" was heard
"I knew I would marry you when you cried after you took a bite at the roasted chicken I made on our first date"
"I am so in love with you"
