CHAPTER
FOUR :

PARTY
FAVOR

_____________________________________

[ LUKE's
p.o.v. ]

I sat in front of the blonde girl whose wavy hair had slightly shaded over her hazel green eyes underneath the soft light, as she nodded once.

"I can't be here long." She murmured, looking down at her dampened clothes.

"So just tell me why you're here." My eyes roamed her up and down, and then back and forth, before they landed on her lips.

Whatever the terminology was that women liked to use for me, was far beyond my concern, knowing exactly that women had the same predator in them. Growing up, heartbreak was all I felt, so to shut myself out was the only way I'd survive. It was safe to say this girl was making it difficult by the very second.

October sighed, as if she had worried about something before she decided to respond anyway. "I don't know why you looked at me, the way that you did. Whatever motive you had in mind, clearly cannot be mine, but I had to do this for the sorority. For this... Glitter stick that supposedly decides my fate as my standing in kappa alpha theta." October explained, pressing her lips together before her fragile eyes locked with my stoic stare.

I'm afraid I knew exactly what she had talked about, all she really had to bring to light was the damned glitter stick of that sorority house.

"Should've picked a sorority that wouldn't have your head on a plate if you were attracted to me, then." I smirked, October raising her eyebrows.

"So, you know what I'm talking about?" She asked, her voice sounding unsure if it had been a good or bad thing. "And don't jump the shark here, Fonzi. It seems like you and Candace have gotten to much more, anyway."

"Well we would have if it hadn't been for the girl with my boxer shorts on her head, underneath my bed." I chuckled, October running her fingers through her entangled hair uneasily. "Let me guess, my boxer shorts would thus give you the power that the sorority glitter stick compels you to conjure up, right? Or am I wrong?" I joked, October groaning.

"You're right, but don't think I'm feeding your humongous ego anymore." She scoffed.

"Candace wasn't my girlfriend or anything, she needed to get away, and so I gave her that." I shrugged. It was only the truth.

"Whatever, Luke. Will you give me the boxer shorts or not, because Cassidy's not going to like the fact I came all this way just to fail the mission."

"Just as long as you'll keep crossing paths with me, I'm afraid you'll fail the mission repeatedly, October." My eyes train on her pink lips, just wondering how they'd taste if she had just... Gave in to me. "Now wouldn't that just be a predicament?"

She narrowed her eyes at me, our faces at the closest proximity near one another's since she had bothered to sneak up here. She sighed, heavily, hovering her lips over mine.

"You're full of it, do you know that?" October hummed softly, before she had shoved at my chest. I leaned back at the impact.

"You're the one up in my room."

"And that doesn't mean anything." She pursued to cover up whatever little moment we had at that welcoming gathering. "Look, I know boys exactly like you, Luke. They want one thing, and they're out the door, fast. If you ask me, it's murder in plain sight to a girl's heart. It's all just so fucking masochistic."

"And you girls play it so safe with guys too? Yeah, doubt it, October." I frowned.

For a second, the expression on her face changed, she had looked sad for the briefest moment before she had went back to emotionless.

"I'm going to show myself the way out." She shook her head.

"You know this is far from over, right?"

"It is. But you know exactly why I've gotta do what I have to do right?"

"Because I think you're hot?"

"Asshole." October gritted her teeth, pointing a finger at me angrily.

"That's the glitter stick talking, sweetheart." I snidely remarked.

"You know what, maybe it is, and maybe it isn't. But I'm not going to let you get in the way of the threshold I have at the sorority."

"Believe me, your threshold's far from jeopardized. You can keep the boxer shorts."

"Okay." She softly said. "Assuming we won't have a problem then, I'll tell you we'll go separate ways without a word to anyone else. Got it, Luke?"

"My lips are sealed." I shrugged.

October slung the boxer shorts over her shoulder, crossing her arms as her hourglass figure of a body swayed to the window.

"Wait." I had stopped her, sighing. "If you're taking the window, you should probably dry up before making your way down, don't you think?"

"I'll be fine." She stubbornly answered.

"Will you be? Because you're shivering. Just let me get you a towel, would you?"

October groaned, before she fixates her attention back to me. "A towel. That's all, please." She admitted, a smile making its way to my face.

"I've got you, don't worry."

[ OCTOBER'S
p.o.v. ]

I had been panicking internally this entirety I've tried to keep my cool. Though I might've done a good job at it actually. One thing being, that Luke might've not been as cold and prick-like as he came out to be if he still offered me a towel after I called him an asshole out of frustration. Perhaps it was just because we didn't see eye to eye.

It somehow didn't surprise me that he knew about the sorority and the practice of the glitter stick. He must've had multiple entanglements with sorority sisters, seeing them as placeholders that just came and went. Was I curious as to why he had such a fixated opinion on women? Possibly, after the intimate conversation we just shared, although I refused to give lost words into the night deeper meaning when they shouldn't even be given the time of day.

No one could know, no one could possibly know we even talked about anything else besides those boxer shorts, that's what. I wanted to avoid the consequences at hand if I failed to appease the moral that the glitter stick held for my sorority.

I sighed, realizing the double dare still hadn't been over. The next part I dreaded, though at the same time, it shouldn't be deeper than anything but a pursuit for dominance over the cocky frat-boy. I still had to convince him this wasn't over somehow. I needed a temporary fix to this, but... How?

Luke immersed from the bathroom where he had a green towel in hand, smiling at me slightly before he handed it over to me. "You know, this isn't how I would've imagined getting you wet on a first impression basis, but it's alright."

I laughed, rolling my eyes. "A typical agenda for you, I presume?"

"Not any quite like this one." He furrowed his eyebrows, his tone gentle.

"Goodbye, Luke." I flatly dismissed, running the towel over my wet clothes and quickly through my hair before I thrust it towards him.

"Surely." Luke said, before our eyes meet once more on my way out his open glass window.
