Hi everyone,
this is going to be my new story, something that i have had in my mind since i read the book.
In the original story Newt leaves the Berg and meets Kaisha and his son Dante.
They grow pretty close and she becomes a kind of maternal figure to Newt, until a big secret is revealed and they become more than a family.
They become his last life purpose.
In my story Newt meets Kath, a young girl and her brother Dante.
They are all supposedly infected and share the same destiny, and that together with a faltering mental clarity, makes them a family.
The last family he will ever have, before facing the destiny he already accepted.
Kath and Newt live on a rollercoaster of emotions.
After a lot of work he will get to know her story, her past (one that she, just like him, tries to carefully hide), the reasons behind such a strong and independent girl that at the same time, needs a lot of emotional support.
They all had an eventful past and now have to live up to the traumas that are left.
There will be a lot of love, but not that kind of love.
A love that you give and receive when you know your life is coming to an end.
One that you accept when you want to be saved from a loveless death, away from your best friends.
That love and his personal journal were the only things anchoring him to this world, until Kath reveals a big secret to Newt, and suddenly she becomes more.
She becomes his last adventure, his last fight, something to hold onto before facing his destiny.
Newt's death is inevitable and even he knows.
But that doesn't mean happy ending isn't on the corner.

Also because this is a re adaptation a lot will be just like in the last Dashner's book, which I recommend readying first if you haven't yet.
