"Sir, are you alright?" The butler hurriedly asked, before immediately taking out a handkerchief to wipe away the water droplets on Gu Tianling's suit.
Tang Mo'er was almost fully drenched, she opened her eyes with much difficulty and took a look at the man she ran into. It was a middle-aged man who looked to be around 50 years old. Although he was middle-aged, his black suit only served to elevate his aura and he exuded a dignified and refined presence.
There was a butler behind him, and he respectfully held an umbrella for him.
"Mister, I'm sorry. It wasn't on purpose." Tang Mo'er apologized, her head bent.
Her delicate shoulders were held by his large palms as Gu Tianling murmured in shock, "Xuanji, Xuanji is that you?"
The girl had a stunning resemblance.
Gu Tianling's gaze was fixated on Tang Mo'er's beautiful face. With her stunning facial features and perfectly-shaped brows, paired with a small delicate nose, even her cherry lips were similar to Lin Xuanji.
His eyes started to become more obsessive and infatuated.
Tang Mo'er felt her body hurting so much, she just wanted to scratch herself all over. Who exactly was this man and why was he holding onto her so tightly!
"Mister, let go of me!" Tang Mo'er struggled.
But she didn't have any energy left, the pain was tormenting her so much she was close to going crazy.
"The One and Only ring." Gu Tianling saw the diamond ring around Tang Mo'er's neck, he stretched his hand out like a demon's claw to snatch away the diamond ring.
Drawing back, Tang Mo'er immediately covered her neck, not allowing anyone to touch her diamond ring. How dare he?
Mr Gu had given it to her.
Gu Tianling didn't manage to touch the diamond ring, but his fingertips had made contact with her soft skin and the smooth feeling made his pupils contract and darken in desire.
It had been a long time since he felt something like this.
Dressed in a form-fitting black tube dress that revealed her beautiful collarbone and delicate shoulders, she was simply flawless. Even more so after the rain drenched her all over and her long dress moulded to her feminine body. If anything, her figure was even more accentuated and she was oozing with womanly charm.
Gu Tianling stretched out his arm to touch Tang Mo'er's face. "Xuanji, it's really you."
Right after he touched her, a large palm appeared and pulled Tang Mo'er's slender waist over to him. "Uncle Gu, you have arrived?"
It was Huo Beichen.
Tang Mo'er fell into Huo Beichen's arms.
Once the pleasant smell in his arms disappeared, Gu Tianling immediately displayed a poker face. He stared at Huo Beichen while asking in a dignified tone expected of an elder, "Huo Beichen, how can you hold this girl in your arms so frivolously?"
Huo Beichen smirked while answering, "Uncle Gu, she isn't just anyone, she's my... girlfriend."
She is my girlfriend.
Gu Tianling instantly pursed his lips, "Beichen, stop joking. You're the only son of the Huo family, Old Master Huo has long since chosen the second daughter of the Jun family for you. The Huo's and Jun's are going to unite in marriage soon."
"What second daughter of the Jun family, I don't want her!"
Tang Mo'er felt the pain worsening, her only goal was to leave this treacherous place. Shoving Huo Beichen away, she ran away as quickly as she could.
"Hey, Tang Mo'er!" Huo Beichen chased after her.
"Young master, run slower or you may slip. I'll shelter you with an umbrella, you shouldn't be drenched in the rain or you'll fall sick." The maid hastily followed behind Huo Beichen.
Huo Beichen was annoyed and forcefully pushed away the umbrella that sheltered him from above. "Stay away from me!"
He then continued chasing after Tang Mo'er and disappeared into the heavy rain.
