"I wanna smack myself" I mumbled
"You know you like that damn boy and you said no?!" Bre said
"I didn't say know I just said I wasn't ready."
I really wanna be with him but I'm scared. What if something goes wrong in the relationship.
"You think he gonna leave you or something?" Chelly asked sighing and I nodded
"You know Uzi wouldn't even do you like that. He real live love you Princess. Give him a chance before he stop waiting for yo ass" she said
"But what do I say? He looked so sad when I said it I can't just call him out the blue and say my bad yea I'll be your girlfriend" I said smacking my teeth
"You ain't got to. I just texted him and told him you crying so he'll be here in like 20 minutes" she said making my eyes go wide
"But—BYE. LOVE YOU!" She yelled dragging Bre behind her
For the next 20 minutes I was pacing my room trying to figure out what I was gonna say to Uzi. I was so in my thoughts I didn't here the front door open.
"Princess! Jackie Chan here for you!" My papa yelled
My heart started beating and I slowly walked downstairs. I seen Uzi standing there with a bag and when I got to where he was standing he handed it to me.
"I got you some candy and shit. Chelly told me you was crying but you don't look like you was crying" he said examining my face then body
"No she lied so you could come over here..." I said
"For...?" He trailed off confused
"Look about yesterday— it's cool Princess you still my dawg" he said cutting me off and shrugging
"No Uzi... I like you too I just got overwhelmed and stuff. You know how I feel about people coming in my life and leaving and I didn't want to do something to make you leave" I said and he came and hugged me
"Slim you know I wouldn't do nothing to hurt you. I understand how you felt." He said
"So do that mean we... you know?" I said trying hide my smile
"I been wanting you to be my girl for a brick hell yeah" he said smacking his teeth making me laugh
"Let's go do something. I wanna go to to the mall or something" I said
"Ard go get ready" he said going to the living room but I stopped him
"You can come upstairs" I said
"Ard now girl you must want me to get shot or somethin'." He said
"Boy come on he not gonna trip and my uncle not here."

"You stay eating wit' ya fatass" Uzi said as we pulled off from the chic fila drive through
"You the one always asking if I'm hungry and even off I say no you get me some anyway." I said taking a bite of my sandwich
"Gotta make sure my shawty straight"
His phone started ringing and he looked at the caller I'd before declining. The phone rang again and he answered with an attitude and put it on speaker
"What bruh?" He said
"Aye moe I need you come round chop right quick" a deep voice said
"I can't I'm wit' my girl" he said taking it off speaker
"It's gon' be like for 5 minutes moe" the person said since I could still hear them
"Im not bringing her on no block, 30. Ima just get up with you later" he said hanging up the phone
"You could have went. It sounded important" I said
"Nah he don't want shit plus shit get wicked 'round there this time of day so I'm not taking you over there" he said
"Why he want you to come around there? You not doing nothing crazy right?..." I asked piercing my lips together
"Hell no. he just want me to come so I could see how 'fun' it is" he said putting emphasis on the word fun shaking his head
My phone started ringing and it was my godfather so I answered.
"Aye I gotta' talk to you" he said sounding a little off
"About what?" I said furrowing my eyebrows
"Look just come to my house, Ard" he said then hung up
"The hell" I mumbled
"Where he live at? Ima take you"
I told him where Smoke lives and he started driving to there. About 15 minutes later we was there and Uzi came inside with me.
"Who told you to bring this nigga along?" He said looking down between us when he unlocked the door
"We was already out. What do you have to tell me?" I asked following him to the living room
He directed me to sit across from him and said Uzi could sit down too since he was standing next to me. He was staring at Uzi before looking at me and sitting down.
"You know I don't sugar coat shit. That lady that gave you her number the other day—" he got cut off by someone busting through the front door
He quickly whipped out a gun and pointed it at the person who we realized was Woosie
"Aye bitch! It's me!" He said dropping his McDonald's bag
"Slim I told you bout running in my shit" Smoke said smacking his teeth
"Whatever. You tell Princess about her brother yet?" He said making smoke smack his head with his hands
"Brother?" I said confused
"Oh... my bad..." Woosie said picking up his food then walking out the room quickly
"Yes brother, you got a brother on yo fava side." Smoke said
"Huh?" I said still confused
I'm really confused because my dad never had another child and I'm trying to process this.
"My dad never had another kid" I said furrowing my eyebrows
"Ard Saige what I'm bouta say gon sound crazy but ya fava ain't your real fava and ya biological fava locked up" he said
"Come on Smoke you play too much. What you really have to tell me?" I said smacking my teeth
"Saige I'm serious.." he said sighing
"Nah..." I mumbled
So the man that I been believing to be my father my whole life... is not even my father.
"Princess breathe" Uzi said to me noticing that my breathing pattern was messing up
"Wait so you knew about this?" I asked Smoke
He gave me a look then nodded his head. This isn't something that you keep from somebody, man.
"It's not like I wanted to hide some shit like this from you. Ya muva told everybody that she wanted you to still think Ant was ya fava. And he still is Saige. The nigga raised you till he couldn't no more" he explained
Smoke always put respect on my dads name. Sometimes it would be a little unnecessary but he made sure to tell me how good of a dad he was.
"So who is my biological dad?" I asked
"Saige I'm not even supposed to be having this conversation with you." He said
"Nevermind. I'm going home" I said getting and walking out
"Aye don't walk away from me I wasn't done talking to you" he said following us
"You not trying to tell me the truth so what I need to stay here for?" I said walking out and slamming the door
"You want me take you home?" Uzi asked me and I nodded trying not to cry

"Ard now little girl, I get you mad but watch your tone with me" he said glaring at me
I asked him if what Smoke told me was true and he confirmed it.
"It ain't my got damn fault. It's what your mother wanted. Ya real daddy wasn't shit so hey I think you dodged a fat ass bullet" he said scoffing
"Who is he anyway?"
"His name is Louis but everybody call him Kasper. You kinda look like his ugly ass too" he said squinting at me
"Where is he then?" I asked getting irritated
"In prison getting butt fuc—" he cut himself off
"Wait so he's locked up too?" I said and he nodded
So my biological father is a criminal too... cool. Guess something is wrong with my whole family
Why would they keep this from me? Do they realize how lonely I was when I was a kid?! If I knew then maybe I would be normal now.
"So everybody just been lying to me my whole life" I mumbled while walking away
