As you watched the sun set through your window, you thought more about your words and how much you regretted them. Guilt clouded your mind.

Getting up from the window sill, you went over to your bathroom and stared straight ahead at your reflection. So much had changed recently, all you wanted was to go back to before you knew any of this. Before you met Bakugou. Before you fell for someone who broke your heart.

That's how you saw it through your eyes.

But the truth was actually quite different. Bakugou made a stupid mistake. He realised that no matter how much time he spends sulking, it isn't going to get you back. He needed to do something fast. Before it was too late.

The crown didn't matter to him, nothing did. Except from you. So when he climbed through your window, his heart was pounding.

He stood up tall and looked around your room, your bed caught his attention. He went over to it, sitting down and playing with the silk bed sheets beneath his fingers. Feeling the soft fabric underneath his hand, he lifted it up to his nose, inhaling your scent that he missed.

However, he felt himself stiffen when he heard the familiar feminine sigh coming from the bathroom. Slowly turning his head, his eyes waited for you on the bathroom door. As your figure appeared, butterflies flew around his stomach. With your eyes low to the ground, you were approaching the bed when you were interrupted by a familiar figure in your vision.

Lips parting, he stood up and began to tower over you, taking small steps towards you. A blush began to appear on your cheeks which made you mentally curse for still being so flustered by Bakugou despite what happened.

"Y/n. I'm, I'm so sorry."

Your eyebrows furrowed.

"I was gonna come and get you. I, I just...I saw you...and you were already" he stuttered, struggling to find the right words but cut himself off knowing that anything he said just sounded stupid.

"You don't know what it was like." you spat, taking steps towards him, "That room they put me in, it was so cold, and so dark, and.." you felt a lump rise in your throat, "but the worst thing was that you had been lying to me. Why are you even here? To rub it in? You got what you wanted didn't you."

His eyebrows furrowed, "No, no-"

"I know the truth, I know what you're really like, Bakugou. You're just a selfish thief. And I'm not the only one am I?"

He shook his head, stepping back slightly as you approached him, confused by where this had come from.

"Don't try and hide it. Midoriya told me that when he came to help you, you just left him there to be taken...to be killed."

"Deku?" he said with narrow eyes, "that's not possible."

You squinted at him, shaking your head but as you were about to speak he interrupted you.

"He died two years ago."

You swallowed hard, not knowing what to say. The more the silence grew, the more it began to piece together in your head.

"So that means-"

"That it isn't true, it was someone pretending to be him." he said, eyes meeting yours.

Sitting down on your bed, he sighed. He pulled your satchel off his shoulder, which you had only just noticed, and opened it. Inside was a few of your belongings, but what shocked you was the slight sparkle of your crown.

"I came to return this." he said blankly.

All the anger inside you began to settle, things really weren't as you thought they were. It was as if you could see clearly now. Everything that was hurting you disappeared.

You sat down next to him and ran your fingers along the gold, his gaze was set on you. He missed the curve of your face, your soft cheeks, your nose that lead down to your lips, but most of all, he missed the slight glisten in your eyes that only he could see. Slowly, his palm lifted up to your cheek, stroking it softly as if he was touching it for the last time.

You looked up at him as if for the first time. His smile began to grow. It was like deja vu, just an intruder hiding in the castle, hoping that the princess doesn't call the guards, so that just maybe they could share a moment.

Your eyes went down to his lips, just wishing that you could kiss him once more.

"Come back to me." he whispered.

Your eyes traveled back up to his. Sadness was weaved through your expression, nothing was the same as before.

"My place is here." you replied.

His eyes changed shape, narrowing slightly through the pain. He understood that it wasn't that easy. You had a family here and a Kingdom that you would have to look after one day. He knew he needed to let you go, but it felt like a bullet had been shot through his heart.

He stood up and walked over to the window, looking out into the night sky.

"Wait." you said, grabbing his hand, "I...I'm gonna miss you." you sighed, unable to get the real words out.

But as your eyes lowered to the ground, you felt him wrap his arms around you, squeezing you tight. Gradually, you returned the hug, wrapping your arms around him. You could feel the soft thump of his heartbeat in sync with yours. As he pulled back, he planted a soft kiss of your lips. The bittersweet taste rotted your heart, knowing it was the last time.

"Bye, Katsuki." you smiled as he approached the window, looking down.

"See you around, Princess." he said, leaving you there, standing alone in the room you grew up in.

The dead atmosphere around you that was thinning into nothing, left you wondering where to go from here.
