Moving back to South Korea still feels like a fever dream for Natalia even though it's already been a week since she returned to her motherland. You see, ten-something-years ago, her dad's business flourished and went international. And going to the States and living there, permanently, was a requirement they had to meet in order to make sure it stayed that way. It was also a demand the Kim family eagerly met for reasons that are quite obvious and need no explanations.

Natalia thought she'd never step foot back in South Korea, because, although she thrived in both countries, Natalia preferred America more. Everyone there was casual, easy-going, and not to mention, she didn't need to wear uniforms to school.

But all it took to shatter her plans was a phone call from her aunt, informing her of her grandma's situation.

Abandoning the life and friends she made in America, Natalia, with the permission of her parents, hopped on the next plane out of the country and to Seoul to fullfil her dying grandmother's wish⎯⎯which was to see her daughter and granddaughter one last time.

The former was, of course, never going to happen. Considering her mom's relationship with her grandma is complicated and everything chaotic. But Natalia will happily go home if it means making her grandma happy, much to her mom's grave disdain.

And her father...well, he and her never really got along either. Allowing his only child to live in Korea all alone until her grandma...leaves, is the kindest thing he can and will, do for the dying woman.

Which leads to right now, wherein Natalia is roaming around her old neighborhood for old time's sake and because she had nothing better to do.

The streets were cramped, exactly just as she remembered it. Trash littered the area, creating a nauseating scent that had the raven-haired beauty pinching her nose together once in a while. Really, it was no different from the memories she had of it⎯⎯night came hours ago, leaving Natalia in the dark until a flickering streetlamp would come into view, enhancing her vision, before it'd disappear again, only for her to spy another one a few blocks away. Still, despite it being so late and dark, Natalia was not afraid.

She had Bob, her scarily buff bodyguard, to thank for that.

"You still there, Bob?" She called out without turning around. Just to be sure. The guy could be standing behind you and not make a single sound. He was that good at his job.

A rough grunt from the man was the only answer she received, followed by a, "It's past your curfew, miss. Your father said⎯⎯"

"⎯⎯I know what my father said, Bob, I'm not stupid." Natalia intervened, tone clipped and nose scrunched up in annoyance. For every day she spent with him, Bob was beginning to seem more like an overbearing babysitter than anything.
