I got rid of wattpad for a hot sec and just remembered that I wrote shit so I came to see my unfinished business 👀 anyway, I'm in therapy now so my writing will hopefully be better. Also this ending is shit bc I wrote this in 2020 and forgot where I was going with it lmao

If you had known that you wouldn't have made it out of prom night, you definitely wouldnt have spent so much time trying to pick a color to match your lousy date. The night had been going swimmingly, there were beautiful decorations, flashing lights, dancing teens, laughing, joking, and drinks that were totally not spiked. Your date, Jason or whatever his name was, had ditched you about five minutes in to go suck the face off of some girl wearing the tightest dress you'd ever seen. Not that you cared, you only went with him because the school required everyone to have a date in order to attend the dance. And seeing as it was your senior year, there was no way in hell that you were missing prom.

Instead of dancing with Jackson, you hung out with the rest of your friends, laughing along with them as you all got more tipsy with each drink. You remained the most sober, wanting to actually remember the night instead of forgetting it in a drunken haze. As your friends giggled at something one of them had said, you looked around the room.

It was quite beautiful, even without the decorations, but it seemed old and ready to fall apart at any given moment. The base of the song literally shook the walls and if you squinted, you could see dust falling from the ceiling.

"MAKE SOME NOISE, EVERYBODY!" The DJ shouted into a microphone, causing even more dust to fall from the ceiling. The crowd screamed and began jumping. "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

Once again, the crowd roared and you began to sober up quite fast as you watched the ceiling crack in a line down the middle of the room. You dropped you cup and looked around, trying to find your friends but unable to as they had gone to join the rest of the crowd. The DJ screamed into the mic again and you watched, horrified as the ceiling began to crack directly above him.

Without thinking, you began running over to the DJ's booth, pushing through the crowd. They were too drunk to complain as you shoved each of them out of the way. While you were plowing through them, you kept watching the ceiling as it continued to crack and form a circle over the DJ with each drop of the beat. Huffing, you managed to finally get to the side of the booth just in time to push to unsuspecting DJ out of the way.

The only thing you heard were the screams of your peers as you looked up to see a chunk of the ceiling come crumbling down upon you. With your eyes squeezed shut, you felt the concrete of the ceiling hit your head, and then nothing at all. There was no sound anymore, no pain or scratches. It was a quick and painless death, something you are now grateful for.

When you opened your eyes, you saw a bright light that tempted you to close them again out of the fear of going blind. Your eyes remained open, however, and the light slowly dimmed as you focused on the figure looming over you.

"How curious," a low voice rumbled from the person in front of you. The light surrounded their figure and the only detail you could make out on them was their piercing red eyes. "This hasn't happened in quite a while"

You stood, shaking and breathing heavily, from your place on the floor, looking around at unfamiliar faces around you. There were twelve people in the giant room with you, each of them watching you curiously. Most of the men, all of them were men for some reason save for one that looked like a young boy, were dressed in black, while two of them, including the small boy, were dressed in white.

"What happened?" The boy asked, tugging on the sleeve of the other person dressed in white. The man, with beautifully dark skin and hair, smiled down at the younger.
