Author's Note <3
As we watch Nathaniel and Annabelle embrace, with small Logan and the promise of their love between them, I want to thank you, all of you, who from the moment those two children trekked through the stormy forest, have listened to their story and for 22 chapters after, shared in their tears, their pain, in their memories but mostly in their love.
I firmly believe that a story is a character asking you to tell their tale. Once they are done talking, then the story is over. I had an epilogue written, ready to post but in reality, as the entire story of Flashbacks of a Fool was that of Nathaniel and Annabelle’s words—after reading the last chapter, it became clear that they shared all they wished to and their story had been told. I realized that the epilogue was my words and it didn’t feel right. This isn’t my story, but theirs and so I have decided against it and hope you all understand.
A few months ago, six little words crept into my head and refused to leave; following me wherever I went, playing over and over, wanting to be shared. And so, out of sheer desperation, I picked up a pen and wrote them down….
Never could I have imagined that those words would birth a world, that of Flashbacks of a Fool.
And while at times it was frustrating and painful to watch events unfold leading some to pull their hair…. I cannot begin to explain how grateful I am that you all joined me on this journey.
If I’d had known that those six little words would have introduced me to so many amazing and supportive people in the world of Wattpad, I never would have hesitated in writing,
“Typical for a girl to cry.”
