The Council

I had a dream that night. It was a dream that my mother came into my room. She sat down onto my bed.

"Felicia," She said in a soft elvish vocie "I need you to do something." I sat down next to her and put my head on her shoulder.

"What?" I asked.

"I need you to attend the council tomorrow." she said putting her arm hand on mine.

"I was not invited" I countered.

"Ask your father, I will change his heart, you must do this for me" She said squezzing my hand.

"Why?" I questioned.

"You will see in good time" She said.

"Amil, I miss you" I said having a tear slide down my cheek.

"I miss you too" She got up and opened the door to leave. "Listen for my voice." And with that she left.

I woke up in my bed. I could feel a tear escape my eyes. I got out of bed and got dressed. I left my room and went down to my fathers study. I knocked on his door.

"Come in" He said in Elvish. I walked in and up to his desk. "You have come to ask me something? Have you not?"

"Yes, Ada, I was wondering if I could go to the council?" I said.

"No" He said quickly.

"But Ada why not?" I said sadly.

"Becasue you were not invited," He said not looking up from his work.

"But if you invite me then I can go." I proteseted. He shook his head. "What if," I continued "you ask everyone there if I can be there, and if they say that I can stay, then I stay, but if anyone says that they don't want me there, then I'll leave."

He seemed to ponder this. "Okay" He said. I silently cheered. "But if you stay then you may not talk only observe" My heart sank a little but I agreed and walked out. I ran up to the library.

I walked in and saw Aragorn reading the book that I saw him reading last night. "Aragorn guess what?" I said excitely.

He looked up from his book as I sat down next to him. "What?" he asked smiling.

"Ada is letting me go to the council!" I said grinning.

"How did you convince him?" He questioned.

"I said that if everyone said that I could be there then I could stay" I said he nodded "But I'm not allowed to talk" I frowned.

"That should be hard for you considering how much you like to talk." He said laughing. I punched him in the shoulder playfully.

Later when it was time for the council I took my seat next to my father on his left. The people began to come in. The person cloest to me was Frodo. Frodo was sitting next to Gandalf and he sat next to the elves who sat next to the dwarves who sat next to the men. Aragorn sat opposite of Frodo.

Once everyone was there my father stood up to talk. I was allowed there because at breakfast no one objected to me being there so I was allowed to come. My father looked to everyone then spoke.

"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old." He started. "You have been summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor. Middle-Earth stands upon the brink of destruction. None can escape it. You will unite or you will fall. Each race is bound to this fate--this one doom. Bring forth the Ring, Frodo" He motioned to the rock pedestal in the middle of the cirlce.

Frodo got up and placed the gold ring down in the center. It gave me the chills, even when I was taking care of Frodo when he was hurt. I looked around the circle and saw everyone start to whisper.
