Silently watching, just out of sight, a man hid in the shadows watching for the one person who could ruin his life. The one person who could have him locked up for years was just through those doors, but he would have to wait until the boy left the station. Then, he would follow him home and end this before it got any worse.

I stretch as I get up. I've been sitting in this chair for hours. They first brought me in to question me about my families deaths, though as they soon came to find out, I was only a witness to their murders, and the man who killed them saw me running away. I had managed to make it here, to the police station, where they made me sit for hours as they created my new identity.

I walked over to the mirror, my once blonde hair was jet black, a scar had been somehow applied to my face, and my eyes that were once a dark green were now a darker brown. They told me this was all necessary, that I would get a new life, a new chance to live. Starting over would be the hardest thing i've ever had to do, but I must if I was to have another chance at a future.

I shudder as the faces of my family swam before my eyes. My mother, her kind gentle face covered in pain and fear, the sadness still written in her eyes. My dad's face showing rage, while sorrow filled his eyes showing the truth behind the anger. Last was my little brother's and sister's, the twins, I thanked God, their faces showed no signs of surprise, pain, fear, or any kind of suffering. They at least must have died instantly, and for that I was grateful, if they were to die that would have been my choice for them to go. For all of them. The tears began to fall for what seemed the hundredth time tonight. I watched as the water left streaks on my newly dyed skin, I couldn't even tell it was me anymore. "This might work" ,I thought to myself as I walked to the door leading to the new life I must now begin.

I jumped up when the doors opened across the street, but I quickly sat back down, "False alarm" I said to myself. I watched the person leaving, it wasn't him, it wasn't the one I was after. This one had short black hair instead of the long blonde of the guy I was waiting for, he also had darker skin than the boy. I watched until he got into a cab and drove away, before returning my gaze to the doors ahead.

I could have sworn I saw something move across the street at the edge of the trees, I stood there watching for a few seconds before shrugging my shoulders and walked down the street toward the waiting taxi. As I got in, I handed the driver the paper with my new address on it, he took it and started toward my new home. I sighed and leaned my head against the window, watching the people and buildings blur by.

When I arrive I see my new house, it was much larger than my old home, but still it was alien, nothing felt right, it all seemed like a horrible nightmare that was never going to end. I kept wishing that I would wake up from this terror soon, but I was never that lucky.

I took a deep breath before walking up the steps to the large oak door. I knocked three times, and heard footsteps rushing to meet me. The door opened wide and out stepped a woman with frizzy grey hair, and right behind her was a very odd looking man with wide-rimmed glasses and a rather big nose. "

"Hello there, you must be Sam Campbell. It's nice to meet you, I'm Terra, your new foster-mother, and this here is your foster-dad, Henry." She said. I nodded and shook each hand. I walked through the door, silently following them into the house. It smelled old but not in really old person smell, and it looked as if it was about to begin falling apart any moment. They led me through the house, giving me a tour as we went. They showed me the kitchen, living room, the dining room, and I was led upstairs to my bedroom.
