Since Brielle was born, I feel like I haven't shown KJ any attention, so I figured he & I could spend the day together. While the baby was asleep, I went downstairs to Blake's man cave to tell him.
I sat on his lap and played with his hair, "I feel like I haven't paid KJ any attention since the baby's been born, so I wanna spend the day with him."
'That's nice. I'm sure he'd like that," he said before kissing down my jawline.
"But can you handle being alone with Brielle for a few hours?"
"I think I can handle it."
"Alright. I'm gonna go get dressed."
I pecked his lips and went upstairs to talk to KJ first.
"You know me & Uncle Blake love you, right?"
"Good. Do you feel like we've been ignoring you?"
"No. You have to take care of dah baby." He smiled at me as he played with his Legos.
He's so smart and understanding for a three year old and I'm thankful for that.
"Would you like to hang out with Aunt Bri today?" I asked him.
He gasped and I could see in his face how happy he was, "yes!"
"Okay," I chuckled, "I'm gonna go change and then we can go."
I kissed his forehead and went to go change. I changed into some black shorts, a black shirt and my all black retro 11's. I put on jewelry, my black leather snapback, then looked in the mirror.
Wow. I actually look good.
I got my phone and shades, then went back to KJ's room to see if he was ready.
"You ready to go?"
I checked on Brielle, then we went downstairs to tell Blake we were leaving.
"You look so good in black," Blake said, "where'd you get that shirt?"
"Thank you, and my sister sent it to me," I smiled, "but we're about to leave."
"Is Martin going with you?"
"No. Was he supposed to?"
"I would feel better if he did."
I nodded and pulled out my phone to call Martin.
mack daddy: hello?
'What are you doing today?'
mack daddy: hangin' out with Mayah. what's up?
'Do y'all wanna go to SkyZone with me & KJ?'
mack daddy: sure.
'Cool. I'm about to leave right now.'
mack daddy: aight. I'll see you soon.
I hung up and put my phone back in my back pocket. "You don't have to worry anymore. He's going with us."
"Good. I'll see you two later," he said.
I kissed him, making sure not to get carried away, then KJ gave him a high five.
"Bye, Uncle Blake. See you lator."
"See you later, man."
We walked out of the house and went to pick up Martin & Mayah so we could start our day.
As soon as Briana & KJ left, Brielle started crying. I know I told Bri I could handle this, and I sure hope I can. I know it's important for us to spend as much time with KJ, considering he has no parents.
I went up to the nursery and checked to see why Brielle was crying. She didn't need her diaper changed, so I'm assuming she's hungry.
"Come here, baby girl."
I picked her up to rock her a little while I texted Briana, who hopefully isn't driving right now.
me: I think Bri is hungry.
The Mrs. 💘: milk is in the refrigerator.
me: thank you.
I carried Brielle down to the kitchen, took a bottle out of the refrigerator to heat up, then fed my crying daughter.
"Well somebody's hungry," I said as I watched her suck the milk down.
Once she finished, I burped her and carried her with me to the man cave. She looked up at me with her brown eyes and a tiny smile appeared on her face, or at least I think it was a smile.
I picked up my phone and took a picture of her because I mean, it is her first smile. I posted the picture on Instagram with the caption:
Brielle's first smile #daddyduty #ithinkshelikesme
I put my phone down as she yawned and slowly went back to sleep.
I had a really good day hanging out with KJ, Martin & Mayah. After we left SkyZone, we went to get ice cream, and now, we're at the park.
Martin was pushing Mayah on a swing, so I decided I would talk to KJ for a minute.
"Did you have fun today?" I asked him as we sat on the park bench.
"Yeah! Tank you, Auntie Bwee."
"You're welcome, sweetie," I smiled, "you know when I go back to work, we won't be able to hang out like this anymore."
"I know," he sadly.
"I was thinking you could either go to work with me," I started, "or you could go to daycare with Ford."
He excitedly gasped for the second time today and leaned toward me, "I can?!"
"Yeah," I chuckled. He gave me a hug and all I could do was smile at how happy he was.
"Why don't we go back home? I bet Uncle Blake and Brielle miss us."
We got off the bench, he took my hand and we walked back to the car so we could go home.
When we got back in the house, Blake was still in his man cave and Brielle was sleeping on the couch next to him.
"Hey babe." I kissed Brielle's forehead and sat on the other side of Blake. He kissed me and I put my legs in his lap.
"I'm kinda tired, to be honest. Is this what my life is gonna be like as a mom?"
He chuckled and kissed my temple. "KJ, did you have fun with your aunt Bri today?"
"Yeah! I love you, Auntie."
"I love you too, baby."
"I thought I was your baby?" Blake said in my ear.
"You still are my baby," I said, kissing his lips, "my big, six foot ten baby."
He laughed a little, "can you believe we're getting married next week."
"Oh my God, I know. Are you ready for me to be your wife?" I asked, tracing small circles on his chest.
"Beyond ready. Are you ready to be Mrs. Griffin?"
"Are you kidding? I'm so ready to be Briana Griffin," I said, flipping my hair.
He laughed at my foolishness and pressed his lips to my temple. I can't believe I'm getting married next Saturday and I'm actually...excited.
