I dug my way out of the molten lava I was encased in as an egg, and reached the surface, flinching as the harsh cold air reached my scales. I relaxed after a sudden warmth flowed through my body, and looked at my surroundings curiously.

There was white stuff- snow. Snow was all around me. I licked it, being the idiot I was. It was cold and melted in my mouth within a second. The snow was delicious, I decided.

I looked up at the sky, at the white dots that twinkled and the giant gleaming orb. The stars and moon.

Slowly, I began unfolding my wings and closed my eyes before taking a leap of faith. Surprisingly, I didn't immediately fall back down, instead gliding.
My stamina wasn't great, but it would get better.

I knew things I shouldn't have, not at this age, but demonfuries need to know this. It would help later in the future.

There was a little buzz in my head, almost instructing me to try and fly again. And I did, improving at an almost alarming rate.

So much has happened since then. That was 50 years ago, and now I'm hearing stories about dragon riders. Life certainly is strange.
