I look up at the open blue sky
Watch the little clouds fly past
And I secretly wish I could be that free
I look at the greens turning to reds, oranges, and browns
Watch as the leaves fall with the breeze
And I secretly wish I could follow them to the end of the Earth
I look at the descending sun
Watch as the sky explodes in color
And I secretly wish I was that beautiful
I look at the kids running in the street
Watch as they play and giggle with joy
And I secretly wish I could redo my life
I look at performers on stage
Watch as they perform their play called life
And I secretly wish I could fake it like they do
I look at myself in the mirror
Watch as my eyes dance across the reflective sheet
And I secretly wish I had done better
I look at this poem
Watch as the author wishes
And I secretly wonder one question
Don't we all?
