Chapter Twelve: Bleh

(Claire)

I was cleaning the pool. Wow, this was tiring! I then sat in one of the stools at the bar. I told the waiter to get me a lemonade. He hurriedly got away and put something in a blender. He then came with a frozen lemonade. Oh, even better! I told him to put a swirly straw (pink) and a tiny umbrella (pink).

He returned to the other side of the shaft and cleaned the counter. Ah, counters. They reminded me of the surfer guy. Yeah.... wow, I kinda missed him. What was his name? Eh, heck if I know. I sat on the side of the pool and put my feet in the water.

I missed him so much.

There was just something cute and at the same time hot about him! Like Taylor Lautner: cute in the face, hot in the abs. That surfer guy was exactly the same... the difference was: he was adorable! And Taylor is sooo 2010! Gosh. I'm on team Jacob, BTW.

Ugh! I wantex to get out of here right now! The wind picked up and my cherry blond hair was playing with it. I caught my hair and brushed it with my hand, so that it would stay on my left shoulder.

Hmm, I wonder...

I got up and let my legs dry a little and walked without any shoes. The grass was silky smooth. I then went to the front gate. I was standing right in front of freedom. Yes! Should I leave? Or should I wait for the next free day I have... eh, whatever. Its Now or Never! Wildcats gonna tear it up! Go Wildcats! We're number one!

Oh, gosh, that song is sooo 2008! Why am I even singing it?! Ew!!! I don't even like Valerie Hogens! ...That's the girl's name, right? Well, whatever. I seriously don't care.

I looked around to check if anyone was watching. The chances of getting caught were high, but... did I really care?! I moved rapidly to the gate and opened it cautiously. I then closed it and ran away to the towns.

"So, I have to be wrong? Always?"

"Yup. The girl is always right. You deny it, you are in a deep, deep hole, mister." I told Carlos. He was writing every single word in the note pad, which was already half full.

"But what if she's right and then she's wrong?"

"Never tell her: I told you so." He wrote that immediatly. Wow, he must really care for her. My face was beggining to feel down, but I shrugged it off with my best smile. He then looked at me with those charming ocean blue eyes. Mmm, nice.

"Is there something else I should know?" He said with a friendly smile.

"Write her a song."

"Already did."

"Um, well. Have you talked to her?"

"Vicks, I talk to her every day." He said like if I already knew it. What the heck?!

"And???"

"She talks to me back?"

"And?????"

"And nothing. We are always making jokes." I then blushed a little. Was I feeling jealous? Nah.

"Oh...that's a good start."

"Well, its not actually a start."

"Uh, then what is it? How long have you known her?"

"She's been in our class since I got there." He was talking about the old times when we were in kinder garden.

"Oh, really? Was she new?" There were only four new kids in that time. Two of them were Carlos and I.
