I woke up the next morning and the house was absolutely quite, so quiet you could actually hear the slight wind rustling the trees outside the window.
I slowly got out of bed and walked out into the living room, no one was here. What is going on? This is really starting to freak me out.
I made my way into the kitchen where there was a note taped to the fride
Come to the lot at 12:30
That was all that was written, no who it was from, no why we left you at home to have a heart attack and die before you found the letter.
Ugh. I looked at the clock, 11:10, wow! I slept for that long? I walked back into the bedroom and grabbed my clothes and made my way to the bathroom, after getting showered, and doing my make up and hair like I usually do, I got dressed and headed back out into the living room, the house still only had one human in it, me.
I looked at the clock, 12:00, I felt my stomach rumble. I do need to eat something, I won't eat something massive though, it's nearly lunch time. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed an apple from the bowl and began to eat it.
I finished most of the apple and the chucked the rest in the bin before leaving the house and heading up to the lot.
When I arrived I was sure it was 12:30 as I left the house at 12:15 and I walk pretty slow still according to Soda and Steve. I looked around and again there was no one there. I sat down on the old bus seats and waited. I suddenly felt 2 hands on my shoulders and I pretty much jumped 10 feet in the air, I turned around to see Soda standing there with a smile on his face.
"Oh god Soda! You scared me to bits!" I gasped, clutching m hand over my heart. Soda looked at me apologetically and smiled.
"I'm sorry Ivey, I didn't mean to scare you that much." He said sitting down next to me and giving me a side hug with one arm wrapped around my shoulder.
"You're forgiven." I said looking up at him and smiling.
He smiled at me before standing up and helping me up afterwards.
"Now Ivey, you're probably wondering why you're here?" He asked me.
"Yes I am actually." I said with a slightly confused expression.
"Well I was wondering, Ivey, would you like to go on a date with me?"he said looking at me with the most adorablest smile on his face.
"Well of course I would." I said smiling at him, he smiled back at me and grabbed my hand.
We walked all the way into town talking about pointless things and laughing about the pointless things, but eventually we made it. Soda kept on walking and took me all the way to a little ice cream parlor that I had never seen before.
We walked inside and the little bell on the top of the door jingled signaling that we were here. A young girl that looked about 18 looked up and smiled at us.
"Hi, how can I help you?" She smiled, she seems genuinely sweet. Soda looked down at me and smiled.
"What do you want to get?" He asked me.
"Uhm, can I please get the strawberry with sprinkles?" I asked the girl she nodded and smiled at me before turning to Soda.
"What can I get you?" She asked him.
"Uhhh...." Oh god. I smiled and bit the inside of my cheeks holding in a giggle.
"Uhhh.... I'll just get vanilla please." He smiled at her.
"Sure." She said before walking over and getting our ice creams ready. She soon came back and handed our ice creams to us.
"That'll be 20 cents please?" She smiled at us. (I asked my grandma how much they cost, she surprisingly has a great memory.)
"Here you go." Soda said handing her over the money.
"Thank you have a nice day." She said smiling at Soda. Soda turned around and grabbed my hand but before I could turn around I noticed she pulled the finger at me. What a jealous bitch. I just smiled and waved at her before turning to leave.
"Thanks for that Soda." I smiled at him once we got outside.
"No problem Ivey." He smiled and me and squeezed my hand.
"Where are we heading to now?" I asked him as we walked down the street.
"We could either go and see a movie? Or go to a 'secret' park Ponyboy and I found when we were younger?" He asked.
"Can we go to the park? I don't think I could sit through a whole movie." I asked him.
"Yeah sure." He smiled at me.
We arrived at the park after 15 minutes of walking, it looked like a different place compared to the rest of Tulsa. There was a little stream, a little forest of trees, one of which had a tree house equipped with a swing, the rest of the area was really long green grass which came 3/4 the way up my legs. I turned to Soda and smiled.
"This is really nice Soda, thanks for taking me here." I said softly smiling at him.
"My pleasure Ivey." He said smiling back at me.
Before I knew it we were both leaning in, I closed my eyes as our lips made contact. This whole moment was perfect, I felt my knees go weak and all wobbly like jelly. After a while I pulled back from the kiss and rested my forehead against his and smiled.
"I know I haven't known you my whole life, but it feels like it has, what I'm saying is, would you please be my girlfriend?" He said quietly, but so I could still hear.
"It would be an honor." I said smiling again before leaning in and reconnecting our lips.
