FLEUR MOVED ASSIDE to let Jack in. He walked inside and looked around in her hotel room. There were piles of clothes and personal belongings everywhere, she was in the middle of packing.

"So what did you want to talk about?" She stood there awkwardly, and folded her arms gently.

Jack didn't know where to start, he had no idea how to apologize. How should he? It was partly his fault that the girl in front of him was broken.

"Well I came here to say I'm sorry. Please hear me out." He knew that it wasn't the best way to start but kept going anyways. "I know that I've been really coarse with you and I'm really sorry for everything. I should've given you a chance, because everyone should be able to get one. I'm not really good with words but I'm sorry again for not giving you the chance you deserve. This might be really sudden for you but I really had to tell you. I don't expect you to forgive me because if I were in your spot, I wouldn't forgive me either. I want you to know that I'm not joking, I'm really sorry."

Jack looked at the ground, not daring to look Fleur in the eyes. She just stood there, dumbfounded. Had he really apologised? Why?

She didn't know how to react. No one had ever genuinely apologized to her before, she didn't know how to handle the situation. Hundreds of thoughts were clouding her mind and she just stood there, frozen.

Should she say something? What should she say?

Fleur had already forgiven them. Sometimes she would be angry but remember that they weren't responsible for the rumours. At times, she even started to believe them herself. After all, the media only tells the truth, right?

Jack decided that it was best if he just left her alone to think. He couldn't imagine what she must be feeling like. He silently walked towards the door and was about to walk out, when someone grabbed his arm.

"Wait-" Fleur said, looking up at him. Jack couldn't help but admire her clear blue eyes. They were glossy and fragile.

He closed the door and waited for her to say something, but she didn't move. Eventually she let go of his arm and glanced up at him. Fleur studied his face. She was good at reading other people's faces, and she could tell that Jack was feeling worried, guilty and sad. Her heart ached at the sight.

She hated to be the reason others were upset, that was also partly the reason hate affected her so much.

Fleur wanted to tell Jack that she forgave him, she wanted to bad to tell him it's okay and that she is happy to accept his apology, but it seemed too good to be true. Something was off. Life wasn't perfect. She didn't want to be clueless and naive again, just to have her heart broken.

She couldn't bring herself to say it.

Jack wasn't sure what to do. he felt nervous as Fleur studied his face. Her eyes revealed so much emotion. She looked distressed, and pain was evident in them. suddenly, he remembered something.

"I believe this belongs to you." He said, and handed her an old notepad. Fleur instantly recognized it. It was her diary.

She was shocked, to say the least. How did he know it was hers? The only way he could know is if he-

"D-did you read it-?" She choked as her eyes began to water. She didn't want to cry, she really didn't. But something about the thought of anyone reading her diary was so overwhelming and scary. She felt as if her heart suddenly weighed a lot.

Jack didn't want to lie, even though the state of the girl worried him. "Y-yeah I did"

It all made sense to Fleur after the words left his mouth. She was stunned. She felt numb. Her previously wet eyes were now dry. All she could do was stare forwards at nothing in particular.

Fleur knew. She knew that all the boys had read it too. Jack did everything with them so it would only make sense.

She sighed and closed her eyes, silently letting a few tears drop. Her heart still ached and felt heavy. She forgot Jack was still in the room, the world had completely been shut out. It was only her and her thoughts.

Panic was slowly rising in her chest as she felt the familiar feeling of her head growing light. The room started blurring and spinning in front of her. Fleur was still trapped in a trance.

Despite her mind being frozen, Fleur's body acted on it's own. She felt like she had no control over anything, yet she found herself suddenly hugging Jack. He was even more confused then ever and was so shocked that he didn't even move for a few seconds. Then he hugged back, not understanding the situation at all.

Fleur's brain caught up and she mentally slapped herself for what she just did. Why on earth was she hugging Jack Avery? However, she didn't let go. His embrace felt strangely calming and safe.

She held tightly onto him, although she didn't know why. Jack couldn't help but have a slight hope that this meant that she forgave him. He felt comfortable in the moment.

Maybe some people just need a hug when they're sad.
