I looked awful, I know. Dani was crying, I was crying. There were cuts, burns, and bruises all over my arms and legs. Dani knew what it was from.
"I'm calling Kyle and then we are cleaning you up" she announced, picking up her phone.
"No!" I snap at her, trying to take her phone, but it hurts so bad I just fall to the ground.
"Stay down there, I will call Kyle from my room. Do. Not. Move." Dani states, and walks up to her bedroom. I can't really move, so I just lie on the floor, and god, does it hurt so bad.
After what feels like forever, Dani comes back down.
"Sorry that took so long, I was trying to explain how he shouldn't come over and how you are not in the best mood to talk" she says, and then helps me up.
"Why'd you have to call him?" I ask.
"Shay, Adelene didn't cut. Kyle did" Dani explains. She helped me get up from the floor and now we are walking up the stairs. I sound like I am wheezing from all the pain.
"What?" I reply.
"He did in 6th grade, so you don't have to worry about it now, but I just thought you should know since this seems to be getting serious" she states, and then I hear a footstep.
"I thought you were home alone?" I ask.
"So did I..." she mumbles.
"Mom? Lillian? Anyone here?" She calls out for them, but no one replies. We continue going up the stairs, and then I smell something awful.
"It's Lillian" Dani mutters. I go to Dani's room while she tries to figure out what's going on.
"I thought you were done with drugs!" I hear Dani scream at Lillian.
"I was but stuff happens and I need it to relax, now get the frick out of my room!" Lillian shouts back at her. I plug my ears so I don't have to hear the rest.
Once Dani comes back, I unplug my ears. She guides me towards the bathroom, and starts up her bath tub. She left me there alone, so I took off my clothes, and got in. At first, my whole body stung, and I had to stop myself from screaming, but eventually it felt good, and I relaxed.
My blood had dried before I came, so the water didn't turn a dark red. Once I was done, I got out, and began to dry myself off.

Dani had left me some clothes, a black, Victoria's Secret sweatshirt and light blue, baggy sweatpants. I borrowed one of her hair ties, and pulled my hair-, that pretty much looked black since it was sort of wet- into a messy bun. Then, I headed downstairs, stiffly walking because of how sore my body felt.
A mixed yet delightful smell of mac 'n' cheese, hot dogs, and baked beans shooted up my nose as I reached the end of the steps. Dani must have thought I was hungry, and she was right.
I could hear hot dogs sizzling as I walked into her kitchen.
"You feeling any better?" She asks, putting two hot dogs, a half a box of mac 'n' cheese, and two scoops of baked beans.
"Not really..." I mumble, sliding onto a bar stool by her light tan and grey counter. Dani passes me the plate of food, a spoon, a fork, and a napkin. I quickly wolf it down, and thank her for making it once I'm done.
"Did you call Kyle?" I blurt out after a couple minutes of silence.
"I'm sorry, I had to. He's on his way over" Dani replies, and I groan.
"We're going to help you, Shay" Dani says, and comforts me.
