Chapter 7

Toby's POV-

I was sitting backstage when Caden came running up to me.

"TOBY!" She yelled. She ran up to me jumping into my arms. I hugged her. She was crying.

"Caden what's wrong?" I asked worried.

"I saw them!" She said hiding her face in my chest.

"Saw who?!" I asked.

"Them!" She said pointing to the door. I look up to see a women and man standing there.

"That's my daughter now give her back." The man told me.

"I don't think she's your daughter." I said.

"Her name is Caden Jackson Ronald." The man said.

"You got that mixed up a little. Her name is Caden Grace McDonough." I said.

"And who says that? We named her that the day she was born." He said.

"The law says that's her name. We changed her middle and last name the day we adopted her." I said. Caden still had her face buried in my chest as I stood up.

"Give us back our daughter and nothing will happen." The women said.

"You don't deserve Caden. She has done nothing to deal with what you have done to her. She isn't y'all's anymore so go away before I call security." I said.

"I will leave when I get my daughter." The man said coming towards me. Connor walked in through another door at the time. Caden looked up to see the man coming towards her. She looked around and saw Connor. She jumped out my arms and ran over to him. She hugged his leg. He looked down and picked her up seeing the man and women as he looked up.

"Who are them?" He asked.

"The question is who are you holding my daughter." The man said.

"She isn't your daughter any more sir. My parents adopted her and her last name changed with that so she isn't yours anymore. So please go away." Connor said.

"She is still my daughter! So give her here." He said walking up and grabbing Caden's arm. She screamed. I ran over to the man and jumped on his back making both of us fall to the ground. I had him by the collar of his shirt.

"DONT YOU EVER TOUCH MY LITTLE SISTER! I SWEAR I WILL HURT YOU IF YOU HURT HER YOU BASTARD! YOU DONT DESERVE HER! YOU NEVER DID. SHE BELONGS TO MY FAMILY NOW BECAUSE ALL THE HORRIBLE THINGS YOU HAVE DONE TO HER!" I screamed in his face. I could hear Caden crying when I stopped screaming at him. Connor ran out the room. But returned a few minutes later with Riley and security. They got the man and women out the room. Connor came back in with Caden.

"Caden are you okay?" I asked. She looked at me.

"Yah." She said not looking at me.

"Are you scared of me?" I said stepping back. Caden turned to me and  shook her head no. I looked at her confused. She got out of Connors arms and came over to me and hugged me.

"I'm not scared of you Toby. I mean I was when you tackled him but I'm fine now." She said.

"Was that your parents?" I asked.

"Yes." Caden said.

"It's okay sis I will never let them or anybody hurt you." I said hugging her.
