We strode down the long corridor and headed out two huge doors to go sit by the lake. Of course, I assume we'll just be sitting by the lake and talking.

It was a beautiful day outside, I was almost glad that I agreed to come out here with him. I probably would have regretted it if I had not.

The sky was a bright Autumn blue with a crisp wind. It was a little chilly, but no where near cold enough to need a jacket.

The sun reflected off of the lake and looked like a scene from a cheesy romantic movie.

We didn't really talk on the way out, but he did hold the door open for me while we exited the castle. So he's mysterious, smart, handsome, and chivalrous.

I genuinely feel as if the Sorting Hat had trouble placing him into a house. Especially considering the fact that he has main qualities of each house.

Thankfully though, the Sorting Hat put us both into Slytherin. Slytherins house colors were green and silver. And our house symbol was a Serpent.

"So, why out to the lake?" I finally asked breaking the awkward silence. I mainly asked it to get my mind to shut up though.

"I'm not sure really. It's my comfort place I guess. This is where I come to write, draw, read, or blow off steam really. It's also where I go during most free periods." he answered.

"You write?" I asked. I never thought that he'd be the type to write. "Yes, I do it a lot in my spare time. It helps me a lot with my emotions and I enjoy doing it."

"Can I read any of it?" I asked not sure of the answer that I would receive.

"Perhaps one day you'll be able to," he responded. I was in shock but excited at the same time.

He must have noticed that I was shocked give the fact that he asked seconds later, "Why do you look so shocked? I'm quiet, not mean," he said laughing. I laughed too.

This was the first time I'd ever heard his real laugh. It was kind of cute. His voice is naturally deep so his laugh was too.

"I never said you were mean," I replied while playfully pushing him on the shoulder.

"Mhm sure," he started "do you want to sit now?" "Yes please," I replied.

He pulled out his wand, gave it a little flick, and a blanket appeared on the ground in front of us.

"This is my favorite blanket to sit on over here." he said as we were sitting down. "Why's that?" I immediately asked.

"It was my father's you see, he's a muggle, sadly, but it's pretty much all i have to remember my family by while at Hogwarts," he said sounding sort of sad.

"Oh," I started "it's sweet that you still bring it with you to school and use it a lot." "I suppose it is," he said smiling while looking down.

I smiled looking at the lake. He wasn't that bad after all. I enjoyed talking to him I guess, I really did.

"So is Gabby your real name? Or is it some sort of nickname that branches off of your name?" he asked me.

"My real name is Gabrielle, Gabby is just my nickname that my friends gave me, then I guess it just stuck." I replied almost instantly.

"What can I call you, because I don't want to call you what everybody else calls you. I want to call you something special." he asked with a somewhat persuasive tone.

"You can decide on that," I said.

"Gabrey?"

"No-"

"Gab?"

"Dear God no"

"I got it, Gabs" he said triumphantly.

"Hm," I thought about it for a second "okay. That's okay I suppose."

"Yay," he started "well Gabs, it's almost time for Herbology. We better get going."

"Oh yeah," I said disappointed.

We got up and took a few steps back. He pulled out his wand and with another swish and flick, the blanket was gone just as it appeared.

After the blanket was gone, he turned to me and said "Let me walk you to class Gabs, please."

"Of course you can walk me to class," I said looking up at him while smiling.

"Im honored," he said mockingly. He's almost 6 foot tall so I really have to look up to meet his eyes.

"Whatever loser, lets go" I said while rolling my eyes. "Okay dork," he replied as we started off towards Herbology.
