As Kai and Team RWBY strolled down the streets of Vale towards the docks, they couldn’t help but notice all the new decorations that were being put up. Balloons, streamers, posters, and even a giant sign that read “WELCOME TO VALE!” in big red letters.
Weiss: “The Vytal Festival! Oh this is absolutely wonderful!”
Ruby: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile this much Weiss. It’s kinda weirding me out”
Weiss: “How could you not smile? A festival dedicated to the cultures of the world! There will be dances, parades, a tournament, and the amount of planning that goes into such an event is simply breathtaking”
Kai: “Ugh, that’s just depressing”
Yang: “You really know how to take a good thing and make it boring Weiss”
Weiss: “Oh quiet you two”. As the group approached their destination, Yang spoke up again, “Remind me again why we’re spending our Friday afternoon visiting the stupid docks?”
Kai: “And why you had to kidnap me and force me to tag along?”
Ruby: “Ugh, it smells like fish”
Weiss: “I’ve heard that students visiting from Vacuo would be arriving by ship today and as a representative of Beacon, I feel as though it is my solemn duty to welcome them to this fine kingdom. And what better way to make an impression than with the strongest student at Beacon?”, she gestured to Kai.
Blake: “She wants to spy on them so she can have an upper hand in the tournament”. Weiss folded her arms over her chest defensively, “You can’t prove that!”. Ruby paused and stared down a street to the right, “Whoa”. The others turned to see what had caught her attention. It was a vandalized dust store. All the doors and windows had been broken in, and the inside was completely ransacked. The entrances and windows now bore yellow tape, reading “VALE POLICE FORCE DO NOT CROSS”. Seeing this, the group rushed down the street to the scene. Kai immediately spoke to the nearest detective, “Excuse me sir, what exactly happened here?”
Detective 1: “Robbery. Second dust shop to be hit this week.” As he walked away he muttered, “This place is turning into a jungle”
Yang: “That’s terrible”. Kai called out to the detective again, “What exactly was taken?”
Detective 1: “They left all the money again.” He turned to his partner, “It just doesn’t make a lick of sense. Who needs that much dust?”
Detective 2: “I dunno, the army?”
Detective 1: “I’m thinking the uh, White Fang?”
Detective 2: “Yeah I’m thinking we don’t get paid enough”.
Weiss: “Hmph, the White Fang. Such an awful bunch of degenerates”. Blake turned on Weiss in annoyance, “What’s your problem?”
Weiss: “My problem? I simply don’t care for the criminally insane”
Blake: “The White Fang is hardly a bunch of psychopaths, they’re a collection of misguided Faunus”
Weiss: “Misguided? They want to wipe humanity off the face of the planet!”
Blake: “Then they’re very misguided. Either way it doesn’t explain why they would rob a dust shop in the middle of downtown Vale”
Kai: “Fair point”
Ruby: “Besides, the police never caught that Torchwick guy I ran into a few months ago. Maybe it was him”
Weiss: “That doesn’t change the fact that the White Fang are a bunch of scum. Those Faunus only know how to lie, cheat and steal”
