Broken- Chapter Four

Start from the beginning

Slamming the door, Nathan ran to the drivers side and climbed in.

"What on earth were you doing walking in the pouring rain?" He asked, whipping his hair to the side, getting parts of the steering wheel wet.

"I- I was walking home" I replied quietly.

"Speak louder" He ordered.

I could tell he was getting mad so I decided not to push his buttons.

"I was walking home" I said, louder this time.

"Well, you could of taken the bus, or had a friend take you home. Your lucky I saw you walking or you would of been sick with pneumonia" He said, turning the keys in the engine.

"I don't have any friends, and the bus was closed today" I said.

Glancing at me then back at the road, Nathan replied, "Not one friend?"

Shaking my head, I turned my head to look out the window.

Sighing. I heard Nathan take a deep breath in.

"Where do you live"

Stopping in front of my house, Nathan parked in front next to the sidewalk.

"Thanks" I said.

"No problem, but don't think of this as a regular thing, cause i still don't like you" Nathan replied.

Nodding, I opened the door, and got out. Gently shutting the door, I ran up to the front door. Grabbing my keys from my pocket, I unlocked the door and walked in.

Closing the door behind me, I took off my shoes and walked into the kitchen.

There laying on the counter was a note, probably from my parents.

We went out, we will be back around nine.

Crumbling up the note, I threw it in the trash. Monday was the only day of the week that was actually quite normal. My parents acted kindly towards me. My father didn't really abuse us on Monday's, and my mother wasn't intoxicated.

I never knew I would say this but Monday's were my favorite days of the week.

Walking up the stairs I made my way to my room. Opening and closing the door, I walked up to my desk. Placing down my backpack, I took out my homework and finished that in complete silence. The only noise was the soft pitter patter of the rain drops.

Nathan's POV

I don't know what came over me. I just saw her walking in the rain, and I just had to stop and help her. Curse me and my kindness.

Pulling into my garage, I stepped out of the car, and walked into the house. The noise of my family were echoing throughout the house. Having a family with four other people, can get pretty hectic  sometimes.

Walking into the living room, I saw my mother and sister playing some barbie, while my brother and my father watched some football.

I guess you could say I'm not really a father or mother kind of boy. I don't really hang out with either of them like my other siblings do.

I mean I hate football, and I most definitely don't like barbies.

"I'll be upstairs" I told them even though I knew I wasn't heard.

Closing the door to my room behind me, I walked over and plopped down face first onto my bed.

This day  just sucked. So far my senior year is going so great. Note the sarcasm.

Turning around so I was facing the ceiling, my mind started to wonder off to Lucy. I don't get it but she looks familiar, and when I dropped her off at her house, I felt like I've been to her house before too. I just can't remember a damn thing.

Ugh, I just need to get some sleep. I haven't slept very great these past couple nights cause all I could think of was Lucy.

Closing my eyes, I pushed back all my thoughts of her and tried to dream of something awesome.

But it just kept going back to her.
