"Where to, princess?" Gabriel asked. They were still on a magical carpet ride, still in the hallway.
Theodore scrunched his nose and teased, "I thought I was being cute when I called you that, but gross."
Gabriel laughed,"I was alluding to a masterpiece," he justified.
"To me or the movie?" Theodore's smile was borderline flirtatious, it died quickly on his lips when he realized.
Before Gabriel could even open his mouth Theodore hasteley spoke again, "nevermind, don't answer that and bruise my fragile ego." he joked, "take me to Maccies instead."----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With both their orders in his lap as they exited the parking lot, Theodore offered to feed Gabriel as he'd drive them home. Gabriel, as much as he would have enjoyed that, declined, even insisted they wouldn't eat in the car at all, but apparently at: "A picnic table covered in birdshit?" he deadpanned, "I totally get, why you'd prefer this over eating in the car."
Gabriel had chauffeured him, paid for his food and had now turned what was supposed to be a simple fast food meal into a picnic. Theodore's mind screamed date date date- he hoped to drown it out with sarcastic remarks, and that his heart would stop fluttering.
No such luck.
Gabriel shook his head in amused exasperation, snatched the paper bag from Theodore's grasp and sat down at the table which, Theodore noticed, was now clear of any bird's droppings. He sat down next to him.
The older boy smiled, opened the bag and blew into it and steam escaped. Wordlessly, he handed Theodore his now smoking hot fries. And burger. And nuggets. And ice cold milkshake.
Theodore wanted to say thanks, wanted to admit that this was indeed nicer than eating in the car, wanted to ask why he'd dropped what he'd been doing no problem, but then he watched Gabriel do something as simple as dipping a fry in mayo and bringing it to his mouth and got distracted.
Gabriel must have felt his eyes on him and tured his head. Noticing the now forgotten fry in Theodore's hand, a teasing smile formed on his lips, a twinkle in his eyes, as he met his gaze,"Oh, were you serious when you offered to feed me?"
Theodore felt heat rushing to his cheeks and threw the fry at his head.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please tell me honestly, but did this chapter make any sort of sense? (not only because I'm (very subtly?) referencing a scene in a chapter (was it 9?) that I wrote like a year ago, lol) but in general?
Hope you enjoyed it either way. Sorry for the long wait. Thabk you so much for reading ❤❤ Hope you're all healthy and holding on.
Feedback is really appreciated!
