"And you still kissed him first. I just think-"

The front porch door slammed as the devil himself walked in, peering between them curiously. "Oh, hey guys. The others were wondering if you wanted to go to the sandbar?"

Dream noticed how George's eyes were not on him.

Nick stood up. "Yea! We totally want to, c'mon Dream."

Dream got up beside him and followed George down to the docks, where half of the group were on the raft from the first day and the other half had life jackets. Clay was impressed with the fact the two kayaks and the canoe were still floating, judging on how Wilbur, Tommy, and Tubbo were attempting to all board the canoe by cannonballing into it.

Bad waved to the people staying behind, before tossing life jackets to the trio. "George and Dream can-"

"Oh, I'll go with Sapnap, if that's okay," Dream interrupted smoothly, although the witnesses would say otherwise. Bad scrunched his nose but agreed nonetheless. "Thank you."

"George, you're with me then." Bad offered a hand to the brunette and pulled him over the the blue kayak. They got in with relatively no pushback, but Dream and Sapnap had a harder time as the yellow kayak tipped dangerously to the left.

"Sap! NAP! Don't STAND on it, SIT! DOWN!" Clay yelped as Sapnap lumbered into his seat, and kayak rocked once more. Finally, they were able to push away from the dock and row after the others.

Dream and Sapnap had an advantage, since they had already rowed together before, so they easily caught up to Bad and George. Wilbur's crew wasn't doing too hot, as Tubbo was now in the water and Tommy was about to be. Wilbur shrieked something at Tommy, but the blond simply fell into the water with Tubbo instead.

Bad pointed them in the right direction before returning to help Tommy and Tubbo, so Sapnap powered forward and Dream nearly lost his paddle in surprise.

Dream waited until the dock was far away to revisit their conversation. "I'm just confused."

"That seems to happen a lot," Nick pointed out bluntly. "You both refuse to talk about things face to face. It's kinda embarrassing if I'm gonna be real with you."

"And what happens if I bring it up and I get shut down again?" Clay protested, but Sapnap's words stung.

"Do you want me to talk to him, since you suddenly lose the ability to converse when George is involved?"

"Yea?" He chuckled sheepishly. "I'm sorry."

"Look, I'll ask."

"I appreciate it."

"And you're gonna owe me one." Sapnap poked him. "I want that debt to be paid in you and George's happily ever after."

Dream felt a smile on his lips, even if the texan couldn't see it. "I'll try."

"I know you will." They returned to dutiful rowing. "Ayo, when are we gonna see this sandbar? What the hell is a sandbar anyway?"

Clay squinted into the water, just as the grounding of gravel against the bottom of the kayak shook them senseless. "That." Barely a foot beneath the water was a shallow sandbar, and now that they were on it, he could see how far it stretched.

"Oh, cool." Sapnap leapt out and stabbed his paddle into the sand, looping the kayak's tug rope around it to prevent it from drifting away. "What did Bad want us to do here?"

"Scavenge for golf balls."

"What?" Sapnap asked, just as he stepped on a white, half buried sphere. He leaned down and picked it up, grinning. "Oh, boom! Look, I see more!"

Dream threw his hands up in excitement, just as Sapnap crashed deeper out into the sandbar and gathered a load of golf balls in his arms.

Bad and the rest of the gang arrived shortly after, tromping into the sand. However, they were throughly surprised when Dream and Sapnap already had a bag filled with golf balls, but there were plenty more. It was a peaceful distraction.

Dream found himself wading over close to the golf course, just as George split off from Bad and approached Sapnap. Sapnap pivoted to look at Dream, who frightenedly looked away, hoping that Sapnap would say what he needed too and call it a day.

He secretly observed them from where he stood, unable to hear but reading their facial expressions worked just fine. The word 'kissed' circuited between them and a flash of panic appeared in the brunette's coffee eyes.

Dream could only hope Sapnap knew what he was doing.
