Chapter 122

It's been two weeks since I gave birth and things have been...hectic. Brielle keeps me half the night but I wasn't really sleeping before she got here, so that's not a serious problem. I don't really eat these days because I wanna make sure I can get into my bridesmaids dress for Monique's wedding and my wedding dress. I know it's not safe, but I'm sure I'll be alright. And to top it all off, Martin has been staying with me while Blake goes to practice because he doesn't want me alone with the baby after I got Curtis' note.

While I was getting Brielle changed, my back pocket vibrated. I pulled my phone out and Blake texted me.

mi amor 😍❤️: i don't know if you're up yet, but i just wanted to tell you i love you and stay safe. tell the little one i love her.

I smiled at the phone before texting him back.

thank you. i love you too. ❤️

I put my phone back in my pocket, finished changing Brielle and went down to the kitchen, where Martin was reading the newspaper.

"What's goin' on, Mack Daddy?" I greeted him.

"Hey," he chuckled, "how are you?"

"Tired," I said, setting Brielle in the bassinet next to Martin.

"Where's KJ?" he asked.

"Oh, he spent the night at Brynn's house last night."

I made Martin breakfast, then sat down so I could feed Brielle.

"You're not gonna eat something?" he asked, looking at me skeptically.

"I've been here for two weeks and I haven't seen you eat anything once. When was the last time you actually ate?"

"The day before I gave birth," I admitted.

"You haven't eaten in two whole weeks?! And you're breastfeeding? You know that's not safe, right?"

"Yeah, but I just wanna make sure I can fit into these dresses for these weddings."

"Blake would go ballistic if he knew you were starving yourself."

"But Blake's not gonna find out, now is he?" I said, burping Brielle.

He just played with his food without saying a word.

"Fine. I won't say anything."

"Thank you."

I hung out with Martin for four more hours until Blake came home.

When I got home from practice, Briana looked weak and tired, but I just assumed it was because she's up all night with the baby. Before Martin left, he pulled me aside and said he had something to tell me.

"What's up, man?"

"I told Briana I wouldn't tell you this, but I'm worried about her health," he said.

"What do you mean?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

"She's been starving herself for two weeks. She said she hasn't eaten anything since she had the baby."

That explains why she looks so weak these days.

"Thanks for telling me man."

He nodded and left. I know he felt bad about telling me, but I'm glad he did. I waited for my mom to get here so she could watch Brielle for a minute, then I went upstairs to talk to Briana.
