"Why do you like writing?" ~ once again, from the lovely Poon-person~
First part, right off the bat: I have no idea. Well, that isn't entirely accurate, as I have some vague reasons that could be related, but I have no definite, absolute cause for my love of writing. For the first reason, it literally does run through my family. Both my father, and my grandmother on my father's side are published authors (though hardly famous), and my mother is trying to write a book (though personally I think she lacks the basic creativity required, it's not my place to judge). Secondly, I myself am highly creative. I spend a lot of time in my own head, making up stories. My issue is that while I love creating worlds and ideas, I have a hard time finishing them (as many of you readers may know, from all of my uncompleted works). I suppose.... it's not REALLY writing I love. It's CREATING. It's the process of making something new, and sharing it with people. Writing is, of course, the easiest way to share such things, even if I struggle to finish the visions I started.
Even so, I do love it. I especially love prompts (when Poon-person gave me that first prompt, I then proceeded to squeal happily about it to my sister at recieving my first prompt~), and poetry, and short stories. I believe this is because such things are designed to be short. I can create something new, something fascinating, and I don't have this requirement to come back and keep working with it, because it's a one-off. It stands alone, amazing and complete, with no attachments unless I get a sudden inspiration to add to it. I love writing because it is a way to create. And I truly truly love to create.
