Clawing, barking,

feet over shoulders,

heads gnashing teeth,

arms gripping, pulling,

another topples,

streaks of sweat,

blood, meat,

the mettle measured,

by the men below,

the writhers, the weepers,

who curse you,

give you worth,

gushing, seething,

boiling mess of man,

ripping, screaming,

all for the chance,

to meet the eyes of another
