The Return of Wormtail

As a sobbing Wood passed Harry the Cup, as he lifted it into the air, I cheered him on, before looking at the forest, and seeing the shadow of a dog disappear..

It was the night before my first exam, Herbology. Everyone in my year, were either studying their brains out, or having a mental breakdown. I was in Bill's office, trying to memorize everything, as I sat on his desk, my legs dangling on the side, as he was correcting 3rd year's homework. 

"I'm going to fail"I finally said, exasperated, throwing my piece of parchment across the room. Bill looked up from his work, and smiled gently at me, got up wrapping an arm around my shoulder and kissing my temple. 

"You will not fail Max. You're really smart, there's a reason the Sorting Hat put you in Ravenclaw"he said soothingly. 

"Well, he must've made a mistake, because I'm dumb. I can't even remember what I studied five minutes ago!"I said. 

"That's because it's your brain's way to tell you that you need a break. C'mon, let's go do something to calm you down"he said pleasantly, before taking my hand, and leading me out of his office. 

"Where are we going?"I asked curiously. He didn't respond, though he didn't let go of my hand. Thank Merlin there were no one out this late at night. We went up flights of stairs, and was up at the Astronomy tower.

"What are we doing here?"I asked again. He stopped me at the edge of the tower, and I couldn't help but have my breath taken away from the beautiful view of the grounds and the night sky twinkling with stars. I might've been here for seven years, but the view would never get old. 

"I used to come here, especially in my last year, to take my mind off of everything. The view somehow finds its way to relax your mind a bit"Bill explained, wrapping an arm around my waist. I lay my head against his shoulder, and enjoy the view for a bit, taking deep breaths of fresh air. 

"Thank you Bill. I really needed this"I whispered. 

"I love you Max"he whispered suddenly. I looked up at him, grinning. I realized then that it was the first time he ever actually said those words. 

"I love you too Bill"I told him softly, and he kissed me as though there was no tomorrow.

"We're done!!!!"Andrea screamed, and lots of students in the Great Entrance looked at her alarmed. I giggled, feeling extremely light headed, having just finished our last exam, Potions. It was way less hard when you didn't have Snape breathing down your neck.

"You know what this means?"Andrea exclaimed, putting an arm around Tony and I, and marching outside (Poppy was gone to see Percy). "We finally finished school! We're officially going to be graduates!"

"Thank Merlin this is all over"Tony said, and looked up at the sun that was coming down. For some reason, I was feeling anxious being out here.

"Max, can you come with me a minute please?"came a voice behind us. I turned around to see Uncle Lupin. 

"Sure"I said, surprised. I waved to my friends, before going back into the castle. 

"How did your exams go?"Uncle Lupin asked as he directed me into his office. 

"Not as bad as I thought it would go"I responded truthfully. He grinned, and took a bottle of firewhiskey out of his cupboard. 

"To celebrate"he explained, as I raised an eyebrow. "Your father would've wanted that" He poured two small glasses and passed it to me. 

"Speaking of my dad, have you heard of him"I asked, as I took my glass. 

"No, unfortunately he disappeared since your birthday"Uncle Lupin said sadly, before smiling again, and raising his glass. "A toast, to Max Black, who has completed all her years at Hogwarts, and will have a great future as a Healer! I'm really proud of the women you've become"

I blushed and smiled more. "Cheers"I said, and our glasses clinked before I took a sip of the whiskey. It burned in my throat, but in a good way. As I drank the rest of it, Uncle Lupin looked down at his desk, frowning. I went to see at what he was looking at. It was the Marauder Map. 

"He's back"he whispered. He didn't have to tell me who, as I saw it myself. It was Peter Pettigrew, with Harry, Ron and Hermione. 

"Uncle Lupin, look!"I shrieked, as a new dot appeared, that of Sirius Black. He and Pettigrew connected, before disappearing. 

"They went into the Weeping Willow"Uncle Lupin said. 

"Alright, then, let's go"I said, and down the rest of my firewhiskey, before quickly leaving with my uncle to go save my friends, and see dad.
