7 Months Later

Luke and I were riding to the beach together. It was midnight and we did this almost every night. Luke had started a band with a few of his friends a few months ago, they were really good, they had tons of covers on YouTube and tons of people noticed them.

I was accepted to University of Chicago a few weeks ago, I was terrified to tell Luke. I know he'll be happy for me but I know he'll be upset for leaving and moving half way across the country. I planned on telling him tonight, he told me he had something to tell me so I thought now would be the best time.

We were laying in the sane when I finally spoke. "Luke I have to tell you something." "What is it?" There was a long silence. "I got accepted to University of Chicago." He stayed quiet, probably shocked by my words. "I'm really happy for you," he smiled. You could tell in his crooked smile that he was unhappy. But I mean, who wouldn't be? You're girlfriend telling you she'd moving halfway across the country would make anyone sad.

"I have to tell you something," he started. "Um... Louis, from One Direction, he, uh, he noticed our videos, he wants us to go on tour with him." "Luke that's amazing!" I said hugging him. Although this would mean that anytime we had to talk in the beginning, was gone.

6 Months Later

It was the night before I left for Chicago. Luke was leaving for his tour in a few days as well. My entire room was packed up and had already been shipped out to my new apartment. Luke and I were laying in my bed. My head was buried in his chest and he was playing with my hair.

We decided that we would try a long distance relationship but part of me knew that eventually it would become exhausting. I didn't want to leave him. He meant everything to me. Luke started singing my favorite song, Hey There Delilah.

"Hey there Delilah

What's it like in New York City

I'm a thousand miles away

But girl, tonight you look so pretty

Yes, you do

Times Square can't shine as bright as you

I swear it's true

Hey there Delilah

Don't you worry about the distance

I'm right there if you get lonely

Give this song another listen

Close you eyes

Listen to my voice, it's my disguise

I'm by your side

Oh, it's what you do to me

Oh, it's what you do to me

Oh, it's what you do to me

Oh, it's what you do to me

What you do to me

Hey there Delilah

I know times are getting hard

But just believe, girl

Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar

We'll have it good

We'll have the life we knew we would

My world is good

Hey there Delilah

I've got so much left to say

If every simple song I wrote to you

Would take your breath away

I'd write it all

Even more in love with me you'd fall

We'd have it all

Oh, it's what you do to me

Oh, it's what you do to me

Oh, it's what you do to me

Oh, it's what you do to me

A thousand mile seems pretty far

But they've got planes and trains and cars

I'd walk to you if I had no other way

Our friends would all make fun of us

And we'll just laugh along because we know

That none of them have felt this way

Delilah I can promise you

That by the time we get through

The world will never ever be the same

And you're to blame

Hey there Delilah

You be good and don't you miss me

Two more years and you'll be done with school

And I'll be making history like I do

You'll know it's all because of you

We can do whatever we want to

Hey there Delilah here's to you

This one's for you

Oh, it's what you do to me

Oh, it's what you do to me

Oh, it's what you do to me

Oh, it's what you do to me

What you do to me"

That song described everything that was happening so well. I buried my head further into his chest. I'm going to miss him. No matter who many late night calls we have, I can already feel the pain of missing him taking over.

I woke up the next morning and saw that Luke was still asleep. I had to leave for the airport in 30 minutes so I carefully got up with out waking him. I slipped on dark gray Nike sweat pants, a white Blink-182 shirt that was a little big. I straightened my hair and pinned my bangs back.

I walked back into my room and got Luke up. We were both silent as he slipped on his clothes from yesterday. There was just nothing to say. In a few hours, I would be 2,000 miles away.

Once he was ready, we walked downstairs to see Shawn, Kyle and Sarah in the kitchen. "Hey, are you ready to go?" Shawn asked. I nodded my head and we got in the car.

We were waiting for my flight to be called, it wouldn't be called for another 15 minutes so I got up to go to the bathroom. When I was coming back I saw Luke walking up to me. He wrapped his arms around and laid his head on mine. I felt light tears fall in hair and I hugged him tighter. I didn't realize I was crying as well until he wiped the tears off my cheeks.

"I'm gonna miss you," he stumbled out. "I'm gonna miss you too." We stood there for a second. We just stared at each other. His eyes glossed over again. I stuffed my head back into his chest. I didn't want to say anything, I just wanted to be with him.

"Flight 482 to Chicago, now boarding."

We pulled away and walked back to everyone else. I hugged them all and said good bye. I went back to Luke and hugged him tightly. "It's going to be okay," he whispered. He kissed my lips before we pulled away and I began walking to my gate. I turned back and saw him hugging Shawn. My heart shattered. I love you so much Luke.
