Ozpin: “Russell Thrush, Cardin Winchester, Dove Bronzewing and Sky Lark”. At Ozpin’s call, the four students quickly took the stage. Ozpin continued, “The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces…” As Ozpin spoke, a giant holographic screen above him displayed the students’ pictures, with the first letter of each person’s name displayed beneath. The pictures were arranged in such a way that the letters spelt CRDL.
Ozpin: “…from this day forward you will work together as, Team Cardinal, led by…Cardin Winchester”. Applause arose from the crowd of students that gathered in the giant hall for the team announcement ceremony. Ozpin then spoke again, “Jaune Arc, Lie Ren, Pyrrah Nikos and Nora Valkyrie”. The summoned students appeared before Ozpin, “The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces…”. Nora gave Ren a joyful hug, as the screen above displayed their pictures, which then rearranged themselves to spell out JNPR. “…from this day forward you will work together as, Team Juniper, led by…Jaune Arc”
Jaune: “Huh? Led by…me?” Ozpin smiled at him, “Congratulations young man”. Pyrrah punched Jaune playfully on the shoulder, which surprisingly sent him tumbling to the floor.
Ozpin: “And finally, Blake Belladonna, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, and Yang Xiao Long.” Like the students before them, the girls appeared before the silver haired man, as the screen displayed their pictures, arranged in a way that spelt out RWBY. “The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward you will work together as, Team Ruby, led by…Ruby Rose”. As the crowd applauded, Yang came to give her little sister a hug, “I’m so proud of you”. The newly formed Team Juniper came around to congratulate Team Ruby, as the crowd of students began to disperse.
Ozpin got off the stage, “Well, it looks like things are shaping up to be an…interesting year. Wouldn’t you say so, Master Blaze?”. Ozpin turned to Kai who was standing behind him, “So, have you made your decision?”. Kai glanced at Teams Ruby and Juniper, still on the stage, talking over each other excitedly, with happy looks on their faces. He looked back at Ozpin and smiled, “Well, I failed the test anyway. Normally I’m supposed to be kicked out. But something tells me that’s not going to happen”
Ozpin: “You never answered the question”. Kai laughed a little, “You are one crafty old man Professor Ozpin. I still don’t know the real reason you want me here so badly, but…” he sighed and smiled, “…I’ll play along, for now at least”. “Hmm, that is acceptable. You will be allowed to stay at Beacon Academy on the condition that you identify as a lone student, the implication being, you will not be able to participate in any official team activities or competitions”, Ozpin turned to leave, then said finally, “I will be seeing you around campus, Kai Blaze”. As Ozpin walked away, Kai found himself almost immediately surrounded by familiar faces.
Ruby: “Kai, you were never assigned to a team”
Jaune: “Wait so that means, you’ll have to leave Beacon? Seriously?”
Yang: “What? No he can’t leave”
Pyrrah: “Well…unfortunately that is what the rules say”
Ren: “Would it be wise of the school to let go such a talented individual simply because they failed to find a team?”
Nora: “Yeah that’s super dumb”
Weiss: “Well for what it’s worth, you would’ve made a fine huntsman”
Kai: “Oh, uh about that…”
Blake: “What aren’t you telling us”
Kai: “Well for starters, Professor Ozpin said I could stay…”. At that everyone’s faces lit up visibly. Ruby and Yang swept Kai into a tight hug, as they exclaimed, “That’s so amazing”.
Jaune: “Oh thank goodness, you really had me there buddy”
Nora: “Yaaaay! Kai’s not getting expelled!”
Ren: “Expelled is a strong word Nora”
Kai: “Anyway, about the other thing”, Kai glanced at Pyrrah. Pyrrah smiled, “It’s your secret to tell, Kai”. He sighed heavily, and then reached into his pocket and brought out something.
Kai: “See guys, the truth is...”, he held up the item for everyone to see, which caused them to gasp in shock simultaneously.
It was a huntsman license.
“…I’m a professional huntsman”

.
.
“WHAT?!!!”
Expressions of surprise and shock filled everyone’s faces as they took in the information Kai had just given them.
Jaune: “You’re already a huntsman?! HOW?!!”
Kai: “SSSSSSHHHH! Not so loud, it’s not exactly something other students should know about”
Nora: “This is unbelievable”
Blake: “Who else knows?”
Kai: “Well just the school staff, y’know the teachers and stuff”
Ruby: “Of course! I should’ve realized it sooner” she was deep in thought up to this moment, “You’re the guy who passed the huntsman test at the age of 13. You’re the Blazing Huntsman!” Ruby exclaimed with stars filling her eyes as she could barely contain her excitement, “I’m in the presence of greatness...”
Yang: “Whoa, I thought the blazing huntsman was a myth”
Kai: “Uh I’m standing right here. And don’t you think myth is a bit too much?”
Pyrrah: “Kai, you never answered my question on the airship. Why are you here?”
Ren: “If you’re already a licensed huntsman it kind of defeats the point of coming to Beacon”
Kai: “Honestly speaking, I don’t know myself. Professor Ozpin personally requested that I enroll here. He claims it’s because I don’t have any formal huntsman training, but…I dunno. He’s probably up to something”
Yang: “Well either way”, she gave Kai a wide grin, “It’s good to have you here Kai”
Kai: “Heh, it…feels good to be here”
~Beacon Tower, Ozpin’s Office~
Glynda: “Well Professor Ozpin, your plan worked. Kai Blaze has decided to enroll at Beacon Academy for the next four years”.
Ozpin: “We’re lucky we got him before she did”, he got up from his chair and turned around to face the window, looking down at the school below, “Now, let us get started on our own preparations”
