POV: After numerous mysterious deaths at Lucia State hospital, Lana Winters, a determined journalist, goes undercover for a story she's working on, in hopes of uncovering the truth about Lucia State, and the people responsible for the suspicious deaths.

Lana's POV:"You better be right about this Lana, or you can kiss your job goodbye."
Lana wanted so badly to reach through the phone and strangle her boss with her bare hands, but instead she strangled her phone as she pressed it tightly against her ear.
"I am! There's something going on in that place and I'm going to find out what! 6 people have died in the last month! People don't just randomly die, Oliver."
There was silence, too much silence before her boss spoke again.
"Fine. But if this goes wrong or you get caught, you're on your own!"
Then the line went dead. Her boss was such a dick, ever since she'd started that job he'd been nothing but an asshole with her. Which is probably why the egotistical prick hired her in the first place, so he had someone to push around.
This was the first big job her boss actually let her do, probably because he didn't believe she would actually get anywhere and then he'd have a reason to fire her. She was going to show him, and the rest of the narcissistic assholes, that a woman was just as capable of doing the dirty work than a man was.

*One week later*
"You must be Lana Winters?"
A little too eagerly Lana stood from her seat, smoothing out imaginary wrinkles in her skirt. Offering a polite smile, she outstretched her hand to the older woman stood before her.
"Pleasure to meet-"
"This way please." The older woman abruptly cut her off as though she had better things to be doing than exchanging pleasantries. Lana's smile evaporated and her hand fell limp at her side as she stared after the woman's retreating form, until she remembered what she was there for and quickly scurried after her.
"Dr Hanover is a very busy man, you're lucky he could fit you in at all."
"I'll be sure to thank him." Lana muttered through a tight lipped smile as she followed the woman down an empty corridor, coming to a stop outside what looked to be Dr Hanover's office.
"Dr Hanover, I have a Miss Lana Winters here to see you." Lana took note of how the woman's eyes lit up when she was talking to the man. Someone has a crush, Lana thought to herself as she held back a smirk.
"Thank you Nurse Bucket." Dr Hanover quickly dismissed the nurse without so much as looking up from his desk, clearly not reciprocating the same feelings that the other woman apparently did.
"Miss Winters, have a seat."
"Thank you for seeing me, Dr Hanover."
"Pleasure." He paused for a moment, eyes skimming over Lana's resume.
Confident was one of many ways to describe Lana, but now she was actually here, her plan set in motion, the nerves started to kick in. She watched idly as his eyes wandered over her forged resume. It wasn't a complete lie, she did do a couple years of nursing at medical school, but dropped out when she came to the conclusion that journalism was her true calling. Her mother was a nurse, her father a doctor, which is why she initially went into nursing; her dads choice, not hers.
