Author's POV
The palace looked busy at that late night, nobody sleep instead all were busily running here and there to decorate the palace before the next day morning. It was like they were getting ready for a big celebration.
The dome of the palace was lighted with the lamps, the pillars and walls of the palace were adorned with marigold, jasmine and rose flowers garlands. Each and every arch of the palace entrance were decorated with hanging mango leaves (Note: It was tied in the entrance to welcome the goddess Lakshmi in South India).
The entire palace were lighted with the lamps and torches. The place was
sparkled with the flashes of lights. More than that the natural moon light was also fighting with those artificial man made lamps and spreading its pure bright light with peace. It was a full moon night so naturally the moon was big and it's brightness spread all over the palace.Inside the palace the king Maravarman, was walking restlessly on the corridor opposite of queen's chamber. All the ministers and important officer of the kingdom were waiting impatiently in the next room
Bhadra, the brother in law of King was also present, he was standing anxiously with the king with a knot between his brows. As he was not only the brother of the crowned queen Vasundhara Devi but also the king of the neighbourhood country Naga Naadu.
Naga Naadu was a small country which ruled under the Madurapuri kingdom. The King Maravarman fell in love with the Naga Naadu princess Vasundhra Devi and married her in swayamvaram ( A girl can select her man according to her wish). After that NaagaNadu, had a strong and cordial relationship with Madurapuri.
The Queen mother of Madurapuri, wife of King Manjuvarman, mother of King Maravarman, Rajamatha Vanama Devi entered the chamber with her force. She finished her pilgrimage and returned to palace just now. Her entry was announced prior t to her grand visit, she entered the chamber and walked gracefully with her saree pallu floating on the floor, she didn't wear much jewels only few, a pearl long chain and a ear stud with few bangles. She had applied a three finger line pattern of sacred ashes on her forehead, it denotes that she was a strong devotee of lord Shiva.
Her eyes were too sharp like a knife, at this age her walk was not slow it was still tough to follow her. She had such a powerful charisma, anyone will not dare to offend her even her enemies. She raised her son as a single mother after her husband's death, she too managed countries internal and external affairs. Though she was surrounded by vengeful enemies she was never afraid, and didn't give them a chance to invade her country.
Queen Vanama Devi was a nightmare for her enemies. Now she had became a Raja Madha of the Madurapuri and helping her son in countries affairs.
She reached near her son with a tension."Maravarma how is Vasundhara Devi?? What did vaithyar(Ancient doctor) say??" Asked Rajamadha worriedly.
"Maa... She was in labor pain for more than three hours vaithyar (doctor) said she will deliver anytime soon" said Maravarman, he was little panic and anxious with a mixed emotions. As a husband and soon to be father he was worried about his wife and baby's wellbeing.
Rajamadha, Vanama Devi understood her son's worry, she smiled and patted his shoulder. She said " Maravarma this is common for any women in this world, don't worry our family god Dhakshayani is with us, she will save our family soon we will see your baby. We are waiting for this moment for many years, so you better get ready to welcome your baby".
Maravarma nodded his head , now he felt little confident after his mother arrived. He walked along the corridor anxiously thinking about his baby, he was excited to know the baby's face resemblance whether he/she looks like him or his beloved wife, whether it is a girl baby or boy baby. He was enthusiastically thinking about his baby, he looks super excited to have his baby in his arms.
On another side Rajamadha looked at Bhadra keenly, he bend down to take her blessings. She asked him when did he come and how is his family. He replied calmly yesterday evening to stay with his sister during her delivery time, Rajamadha just nodded and she was in deep thought.
Almost after an hour... they all heared a baby's crying sound, it was echoed in the palace. All were extremely happy, at that same time a maid came running to the king and Rajamadha. She was very happy and announced the most happiest news to them.
"Lord We got our princess , Rajamadha our queen delivered a girl baby" she breathed heavy with a smile. Both the son and mother were teary eyed, they smiled in ecstatic. Immediately Rajamadha gifted her pearl long chain to that maid and blessed her. They enquired about Vasundhara Devi's health and felt satisfied with her answer.
The son and mother duo rushed to the Queen's chamber immediately to see the newborn baby.
