I know it's late...school kicking my ass...literally. 2 more weeks! Enjoy Part 2 😊
********************************************
The last week and a half flew by quickly, having me scrambling like a maniac trying to get everything done. Since this time, I've been staying with my sister who has been ever so gracious to let me crash at her place. But, I definitely think it's given us some sister to sister bonding time that was much needed. Occasionally my brother would stop by to hang with us, but his long hours kept him busy as he geared up for his official vacation time.
It was so tempting not to bring up Sumayyah and him, but, I respected both of them and their privacy enough not to stir up any meddling drama. Lord knows it was difficult though. It was bad enough neither of them was telling me anything. Then again, you don't tell them anything either.
So far over the past week, I had managed to keep myself pretty occupied enough to not run into Jeremiah. And the girls made sure to keep him pretty busy, leaving him no room to come see me anyway. Which I very much appreciated. I already had too much on my mind to face him at the moment.
After these last few days, this show was exactly what I needed to regroup my life.
After the last week of running from the paparazzi they still somehow managed to snap a picture of Sumayyah, Mica, and me. And manipulated it in a way to claim we were on the run.
"Sayria on the run? Will the largest event of the year be canceled?"
I tell you, they do anything for a piece of change. Thankfully, my publicist handled it, before it made it to print, but they sure did quickly post it on an online article.
I had to schedule a press conference, unfortunately, to address and somewhat clear up everything that has been going on in the news lately, regarding my husband. My manager and financial advisor advised that it could hurt the business side of my work if I didn't clear things up, before my launch.
Explaining to the press my private business, even if it wasn't the complete truth I was exposing, to them, it still was embarrassing.
It made me angry that as a woman, especially a black woman, the public will always pair your personal and business life as being the same thing. However, a man could be whole live cheating and it not affect his business at all. The double standards are real and it hurts even more that I didn't have my husband by my side to defend me.
*Beep* "Sayria, Kiana will see you now. She says it's an emergency. She seems in a bit of a panic." She whispered the last part, probably not wanting her to hear.
I pressed the talk button on my phone, telling Christine that she could let Kiana through.
In swooped Kiana, bursting through the door with haste, practically sweating bullets, looking more nervous than a sinner in church.I gently grabbed a hold of her shoulders, attempting to calm her down. "What's wrong love? Why do you seem such in a rush?" I asked as I guided her further into my office.
"I'm so sorry Sayria, I know that you said we wouldn't meet until tonight, but, I'm honestly in a panic here" She pressed quickly, pacing back and forth.
I slightly chuckled, "I can tell..., now, what's bothering you?" I urged her to sit down, nudging her in the direction of a nearby chair, in my office.
Once I saw that she was semi calm, I let her explain. "I...um...I don't have a dress for tonight, not a good one anyway. I can't afford some high fashion dress, it's just too much." she explained, leaning her head down in embarrassment. Without thinking, I immediately pushed that head back up.
