Park Hyunjae; Head of Detectives
Hwasun knocked on the door hearing muffled voices from the other side. She knocked again and heard a faint "Come in"
She opened the door to see Park Hyunjae and some other unknown man having some sort of disagreement. She could've sworn she has seen that unknown man somewhere but she just brushed it off.
"Good Morning Mr.Park" she bowed politely
"Good morning Hwasun"
She noticed the tall unknown man furrow his brows at her but she decided to ignore it.
"May I speak to you in private about the Lee Soonim case?" She asked
"Another one?" He sighed. "I'll speak to the council real quick. Please have a seat, I'll be right back." He got up and left the room to grow in an awkward silence.
"Another one?" She mumbled to herself, confusion evident in her voice.
"Choi Hwasun?" She looked up at the slightly taller man and nodded
"Yes. Do I know you?"
He shook his head. "I don't believe we've met" he reached his hand out for a handshake which Hwasun didn't realize as she was trying to recall where she'd seen him.
He retracted his hand and cleared his throat "Kim Namjoon."
The realization hit her like a bullet to her brain "Oh, you're the lawyer for the opposing client" amusement seeped through her voice. He smiled revealing his dimples which made Hwasun unwillingly return the grin.
"I heard you've never lost in court" He shoved his hands in the pockets of his elegant beige suit.
"Same goes to you" she unconsciously mirrored his actions.
The air was tense with a competitive aura.
"Why did you come here?" She asked not being able to hide her curiosity as she slightly squinted her eyes.
"The same reason you came here"
"Which is?"
"The case is shady as hell"
"How do you know that's my reason?"
"Because you came to the Head Detective about a case that was assigned to the best lawyers in Seoul"
She nodded "I see your poin-"
She was cut off by the creaking door. "They decided that they'll have two sessions in court and if they can't decide who to imprison, they'll send you off with a few detectives and police to investigate further."
"But we're lawyers, not detectives" Namjoon retaliated
"You'll only be there to share your point of view"
Hwasun glanced at Namjoon who looked back at her.
"Fine" he sighed.
"The first session will be 3days from now, gather as much evidence and witnesses as much as you can"
They both nodded and bowed as they exited the room.
"See you in 3days, Kim Namjoon"
"See you then, Choi Hwasun"
*a few hours later*
"Chansul" Hwasun walked over to her friend who laid on the bed comfortably.
"What?" Chansul answered unamused
"I'm so done with the case and hasn't even started. There's no evidence leading me to believe he's innocent nor that the other guy, what's his face...? Never mind- the point is I want the detective team to look into the case more but they're all busy and the court is after 2 days." She whined in pout.
"..... cool"
"BITCH"
"Uuuggggghhhhhhh" she lazily sat up and reached for the sticky notes on the table near her. She took the pen and wrote down an address "This is where the highway security cameras footage is stored. Me, Yoongi, and a few other detectives know the person in charge."
"So you won't come with me?" Hwasun took the sticky note and examined the address.
"Nope" Chansul flopped back onto the bed pulling the covers over her entirely.
Hwasun looked at the mirror and examined her light pink turtle neck and beige skinny jeans. She reached over to her black double breasted coat and wore it leaving it open as she wore her black ankle high boots which made her appear taller then she already was.
She looked up the address on her phone and placed the sticky note in her back pocket.
(The next chapter will be... interesting.)
