We stood there, staring at each other for a long time. My mind raced with confusion and I didn't know what to say, and it seemed he didn’t either. The wind blew ruffling my hair into my face, but I didn’t care. All I cared about was the guy standing in my driveway. Finally, He began to walk up to me. His pace was slow. It was like in a movie where everything goes into slow motion. He stopped dead in front of me and smirked.
“You have got to be kidding me. Your Noah's Sister? How didn’t I figure this out sooner?”
I didn't know what to say and stupidly blurted out his name.
This made him smile even more. It was a stupid question, but I didn’t care at the time. All I cared about was the How of the whole situational. This threw my plan, and probably his into wack. I couldn’t make a move on my brothers fiance's brother. It was wrong, because in some way we would be related, by marriage.
“The one and only!” He said with that stupid smile on his face.
It made me want to slap him. How can he be so calm about this? Just the other day he was trying to get into my pants! I shook my head trying to compose myself. After a couple seconds I pulled myself together and found my voice.
“Nah, I’m sure there are more Casey's out there.” I said turning around, walking into my house.
A couple of seconds later Casey, his sister, and her husband trudged inside. The door shut and the dinner began. This was going to be a long night. I walked into our kitchen. The food Adam and I made was set out on the counter/bar we had in the middle of our kitchen, putting a sort of wall between the kitchen and dinning room. Our kitchen was blue and sort of small. The dinning room, however, was a orangish yellow that lightened the room. It was big and fit the ten of us comfortably. I sat down in my chair across from my brother, and Casey set next me across from his sister. My Dad and Shelly's Dad sat at the heads of the table with their wives next to them. Shelly's sister sat next to her and her husband sat next to Casey. Everyone had smiles on there face as they gazed down at their food. It made me think that this wasn't going to be so bad. I changed my mind later that night.
“So.” My dad started smiling at everyone. “Dig in!”
Everyone picked up their forks and started eating. Everyone small talked and said how good my food was. I told them I had help and the dinner flew by with ease. Later towards the night time, my parents brought out the beer and wine. We said it wouldn’t be a great idea but everyone insisted on having something. Once it was out there though, our house started to blare with loud music. My dad even pulled out twister. It was humiliating to watch. My dad and Shelly’s mom were twisted together and Shelly's sister's, who’s name I learned later in the night was Jennifer, husbands butt crack was hanging out. Everyone didn’t care though, they yelled and whooped like it was the best match they have ever seen. I snick off up into my room and dropped onto my bed. Doc scrambled in after me and hopped on top of my stomach laying down.
“What a night.” I said petting his slick, black fur.
“I'd say so.” Came a voice from somewhere in my room.
“Doc? I didn’t know you could talk back.” I said my mouth wide open like I was shocked.
