Numbness. That's all the Shadowhunter felt as time passed. It was like every part of his body was screaming at him and at the same time it was too quiet. He didn't know what day it was let alone time. No one has heard his voice nor seen his face since Valentine's attack. Somehow finding strength in her, Isabelle managed to pry him away from the scene to his room. She had stayed with him for a while and not knowing the right words to say, she quietly left, tears running down her face as well.

A couple rooms from there, a younger Shadowhunter was living the same soul shattering feeling. Not so long ago had she lost their mother and now with this she was truly alone. She stood in her bathroom with a blank face as she watched the last remains of her sister wash down the drain. She was busy hunting down her monster of a father after she snapped out of her shock, still covered in blood. She didn't close her eyes as the water hit her face as it felt like her sister's body was glued on her eyelids. It felt like a nightmare she couldn't wake up from. The girl let out a heart wrenching scream as she furiously rubbed on her skin till it was all clean.

And then there was the high warlock. Words couldn't describe the sound he let out upon stumbling on Alec clutching the lifeless body of her. Magnus' legs couldn't carry him to them as he collapsed on his knees where he stood. He knew something was wrong before he came there. He just thought Valentine had activated the Sword. After managing to get up, he stumbled towards her and chocked out a sob. If there wasn't a deep gash in her with blood covering her body, one would say she was fast asleep with the look on her face.

"Magnus, I'm- I'm sorry." Alec managed to get out between his sobs. Instead of a reply, Magnus just shook his head. He knew he had failed her. He felt like he had failed her the minute he didn't portal her out of there. Because deep down he knew, deep down something told him she would sacrifice herself for the greater good. With a shaky hand, he reached out and brushed the strand of hair away from her face, feeling how cold she was.

"What happened?" He asked not taking his eyes off of her. He didn't direct the question to anyone.

"Myrcella, she- she saved all the Downworlders." Clary started explaining between sobs. "A- and Valentine, he stabbed her with the Soul Sword."

"I'm going to kill him." Jace muttered and left the room with hurried steps. Magnus could hear the hurt in his voice.

"Jace!" Clary called after him with a weak voice. "Magnus, there must be something- must be a spell, anything." But Magnus didn't reply. He was trying to process everything and never in his long life had he ever felt so hopeless. He didn't know how long he stayed there because when someone touched his shoulder he realized everyone was gone.

"Magnus..." Isabelle stood there with red eyes. "We have to move her." She said her voice cracking.

The sun had already set, indicating he was there for couple of hours. Magnus sniffed and gently put his arms under her body. Isabelle led him to the hospital wing so the arrangements could be done. As they quietly walked, he saw some Shadowhunters watch them with sad, glossy eyes. He wanted to scream. He wanted to scream at them and say they didn't know her. That if they knew her true nature before this, they would've exiled her at best. But he didn't. He didn't have the strength in him to do so. So they continued. He slowly laid her down on one of the beds and took a step back.
