As soon as I walked through the front door, I felt that something wasn't right. It was too quiet for my parents to be having people over. It would be loud with laughter and music. The smell of food tastefully blending together throughout the halls and the rooms of the house.
Instead...it as if someone had taken a knife and plunged it into straight into my heart. I automatically knew I would never win because I'm stuck playing this game that will never end. I barely remember locking eyes with him. It was a blur.
"Brandy I'm Sorry! Please Forgive Me! Brandy! I'M SORRY!"
I didn't even say anything. I stopped screaming and trying to fight back. There was no use. I couldn't win even if I wanted to.
-
I had walked around the corner to my mother crying shaking her head. She held out her arms so she could embrace me with them.
She shook her head. "I promise you'll be okay Brandy. I don't know how else to help you." She says.
I frowned unsure of she was talking about. "Mom, are you alright? Why are you crying?" I asked.
I truly wished I hadn't I looked to my right. "Oh."
That's when I tried to turn and run as fast as I could. Barely getting to the front door, I felt his arms snake around my waist dragging me back. He held me as tight as he could as I tried to break free. I screamed as loud as I could, but he didn't care. He wasn't giving up anytime soon. He dragged me back and pushing me back onto the couch.
"Hi Brandy." Denim says hovering over me.
I looked over at my mom who kept herself against the wall. "Brandy. He's not going to hurt you. I promise."
I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. Trying to push Denim away, he grabs both my wrists in his hands. "You're making this harder than it needs to be." He says.
"I don't understand. What's going on? You can't-how did you find me?" I asked, struggling to break free.
"I don't have time for this Brandy. I have some meetings that I have to attend to today." Denim tightens his grip pushing me back behind him. "Quit your fucking whining and get your ass outside to the car!" He exclaims.
I managed to pull myself back. "Then Go Without Me!" I snapped. "You Don't Need Me There!"
He grabs neck bringing me in closer to him. His was tight enough to hurt me, but enough to make his point. "I don't give a fuck Brandy. So if I have to drag you out of here myself...I will." Denim says lowering his voice.
I rolled my eyes pushing him back. I heard my mother trying to contain her sobbing, as much as she could, attempting to get Denim to be gentle with me.
"You are trying to justify that I'll be okay with him! Don't See You That's A Terrible Idea!" I say to her as my voice cracks trying to compose myself.
"Brandy. I'm sorry. I don't know how else to help you. He won't stop and you know that." My mother says touching the side of my face.
I shook my head in disbelief. A feeling of a knife plunging its way into heart with sharp. I knew I would never feel this kind of pain again in my life.
I took a step back from her, shaking my head. I felt Denim's cold hand touch the back of my arm. "Time to go Brandy." He whispers softly pulling me back.
I whipped around. "No. I'm not going with you." I say placing my hand over his.
He laughs. "Didn't you hear her? She doesn't want you anymore. Your mother thinks that her daughter is a little whore who is just craving attention." Denim says rubbing his finger over my bottom lip.
I didn't say a word. I just looked into his cold eyes.
Denim smiles taking my hand in his. "That's a good girl."
And just like that I was thrown over his shoulder screaming and crying for him to stop. My mother kept herself against the wall pleading for my forgiveness.
"Brandy I'm Sorry! Please Forgive Me! Brandy! I'M SORRY!" My mother exclaims running towards the door.
