Don't.
Not because you can't,
because I'm asking you
not to.
Why?
There are storms that
could tell you that
mountains,
deserts,
seas,
miles.
inches, feet,
pounds,
Predominantly,
it's about the years
and how they stalked me through
every day in spite of weather
Don't.
not because you don't love me,
because I can't and will not
Why?
There are whims that could tell you
If the severity of their masters allowed it
I can only believe what I am able to disclose
they, let the rest,
rest
Don't.
Not because you're tired,
because I am.
Why?
There is a tune in me now,
like a soreness in my bones
If the soul exists
it would be there too.
Don't.
Not because you can't make me smile,
because it's difficult work
Why?
My muscles atrophied
and neutrality is passable.
Standards have fallen
and my best is
fine.
Don't.
Not because you're unhappy,
because I am
and isn't that why we do anything?
Don't.
Not because you can't
because I'm asking you to
let it go.

ReAnimation: A Poetry Collection
PuisiThis is a collection of poems from my youth that were pretty edgy and poorly written. Here, I've updated, edited, and reinvented them so they are not just a pile of lost causes in my poetry archives.
