So I went through some of my chapters, and wow, I wrote some confusing crap. What was I on? Anyway, because I'm bored, here's another chapter full of random thoughts.
Some wisdom that mum said to me which I expanded upon: there is a big difference between laws and morality. Laws are a minimal, but secure, net for preventing wrong behaviour, while morality is a loose concept that encourages a wide range of good behaviour. Morality is flexible, but with that comes uncertainty. Laws are clear-cut, but with that comes rigidity. It's entirely possible for you to do something that goes against morals, but not necessarily laws. I'd like to think of laws as a firm baseline in society for controlling the worst of things, and morals as a foundation above it that encourages, rather than controls, and instead places its purpose on good things. Morality is built on trust, not fear, but that means there isn't an incentive, if you will, for people to obey. However, it's important that we do not apply the same forcefulness of laws on morality, because even though the behaviour which it encourages might only be good things, doing that takes away a big amount of freedom for the humans who have built a society but still indulge in unethical deeds every now and then.

What even is the point of laying in bed and watching seven men of my ethnicity dance in confusing patterns? Like, I was watching(am watching) black swan and I just...what is the meaning of their existence? What is the meaning of my existence? Why am I watching people that don't know me? What IS the point of anything? Ok this is definitely a weird existential crisis.

Some question that I saw in a meme: Steve had 10 candy bars. He gave 1 to Michael. How fast was the wind blowing?
Me: iS tHiS a ChAlLeNgE?
Also me: This question will need a bit of research to answer. First of all, the average weight of a candy bar is 45 grams. That plus 5 grams for the wrapper puts its weight at 50 grams.
Now, for the speed of the wind. According to the Beaufort scale, at around 50km/h of wind speed, it becomes difficult to walk against the wind, which means no one would be able to walk to another person, much less hand them a 50 grams candy, which will be blown away. So we've come to the conclusion that the speed of the wind has to be less than 50km/h.
However, this answer is way too broad for my satisfaction, so I'm going to investigate further. First of all, Steve and Michael are primarily western names, and I'm going to assume they live in the US since that meme probably originated there. Now, the average wind speed in the US is 23.4km/h. So the answer now becomes somewhere between 23.4km/h and 50km/h, instead of just below 50km/h.
