Finally we were able to get into the castle, mother was on bedrest to rest until dinner. The Nohrians were given rooms for however long they wanted to stay, but I figured they won't be here that long.

Nefertari had helped me into a dress before I excused her to be alone with my grief. I don't know how long I had sat on my bed staring into nothingness. But a knock on my door startled me.

"Who is it?" I asked trying to sound confident. But my voice was shaky and weak.

"It's just me sis," it was Victor. He opened the door and came in, closing it behind him and sat next to me on my bed. "I would ask how your doing. But that's a stupid question."

I looked over at Victor his eyes were red like mine from crying. The vial of liquid diamond grew heavy around my neck as if reminding me that I could fix all this. No, I can't. If I did Xander and his siblings would all be at risk.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about me and Xander," I said and Victor managed a small chuckle.

"That's what your worried about now sis? But are you two really engaged? I mean he hasn't even given you a ring." A ring. I glanced down at my hand. I had forgotten to put it back on!

My mind started to wander. Did Xander notice I wasn't wearing the ring? That was stupid to think, of course he probably noticed! I just hope he didn't find it. Oh gods does he think I broke up with him because of the argument we had? But then he wouldn't have come all the way to Vimore if that was the case.

"Victoria I know you probably have a lot on your mind and we both are dealing with a lot of grief. Who knows how long it will take until we feel normal again. But we have to deal with our grief and still move forward." I had a feeling what Victor wanted to talk about.

"Victor father hasn't even been dead for a day!" I exclaimed.

"I know, I know. But we don't have a body, when word gets out that father is no more we need to have the answers to their questions. Victoria, what happened to him?"

"I already told you, he performed an ancient spell giving his life to save mother."

"Is that everything? You didn't do anything?"

"Are you accusing me of killing our father!"

"No, no Victoria. It's just I know he hasn't always treated you fairly and-" I couldn't believe this.

"But that doesn't mean I would kill him! Do you really think that lowly of me?"

"Not at all. I'm sorry Victoria I never should of thought that you would do something like that."

"Was that all you wished to discuss Victor," he shook his head no.

"I wanted to ask you something important." What could that be? "I wanted to know if you would be queen," I sat there stunned.

"As in you give me your inheritance? I would be queen of Vimore?" I said in awe. Victor gave a light laugh.

"Of course, that's what you've always wanted right?" It was from the moment I understood what being a princess meant, I wanted to rule Vimore. "I don't think I'm cut out for the part."

"But you got to learn from father on how to be king. I was taught to be the supportive wife and throw spells," I was always an after thought to father, but I knew that he loved me.

"You probably know more about this kingdom than I do! Don't lie and say that you listened and did only what your tutors wanted you to do," I looked away, I will admit that when I knew father wasn't in his study I'd sneak in and look at all the work on his desk and try to make sense of it.
