Theodore stood still on the second last step of the stairs. Laughter, shouting and levitating furniture -the little wooden cabinet in the hallway for instance- he wasn't sure if he could handle it that day. But just as he was about to head back to his room, like he was freaking Aladdin himself, in came Gabriel sitting casually on his mother's airborne persian rug, floating out of the kitchen.
He came to a halt in front of Theodore.
He wore a smile and patted beside him, "Hop on."
Theodore smirked, "I can show you the world!" he sang, teased.
He'd been a little boy the last time he'd watched the movie, heard the song. He didn't get the melody right.Gabriel didn't mention it. He laughed and extended a hand for Theodore to take, "That's my line."
He had nice hands. Theodore's had only ever grazed his, unintentionally, as he passed the salt or pepper.
He wanted to hold them. They weren't working hands. They were too soft and gentle and Theodore quickly pulled his own away from his the moment he'd made it onto the rug.
He scratched his throat, feeling suddenly a little flustered, "I forgot to ask you something."
"Shoot," said Gabriel.
"Why the hell are we on a flying rug?"
"Because the floor is lava."
"Ah, my bad, I thought maybe this was another Disney reenactment of yours."
Gabriel quietly snorted, but then his expression sobered a little, "You didn't particularly seem to enjoy my Frozen one."
If this was a direct reference to his dramatic exit that day, an unuttered question as to why, Theodore was just going to have to pretend that it wasn't.
"I like Aladdin better."
