Stepping away from the window, Ueno's eyes scanned her room. Spacious, full of expensive stuff like mahogany furniture, curtains with silver and gold threads inside, bed so big five people could sleep there, and wardrobes full of clothes from every fashion collection in the past three years. Some she had never seen or wore at all.

Opening one of them, all the dresses hung there, neatly ordered by maids every day. She grabbed one dress with a deep neckline and nothing in the back. An attached tag announced the price an average person wouldn't be able to afford.

Knitting her eyebrows, she threw the dress behind her. This way, she plowed through the rows, leaving what she deemed needed. Everything extravagant or extremely revealing ended up on the bed.

"Young lady," the maid called from behind the door. "Your dinner is here."

"Come in!" Ueno shouted from inside the dresser.

When the maid opened the door, she froze. "Y-Young lady?"

"Just throwing my old clothes out. I don't need them." The heap grew enormously in the last minutes. "This should do." Four wardrobes were reduced to one under her hand.

Pivoting, she pulled the curtains, fully revealing the windows and letting the fading sunlight inside. She felt the sun on her face every day, yet now, it seemed its touch warmed her more. As if caring away all her worries.

The maid meanwhile put her meal on the table under one window.

"I want to sell those clothes. Some are from limited series, so they could fetch a nice price." Ueno sat at the chair, glancing at the meal.

"Yes, young lady." The maid poured the tea.

"Donate the money to a cat shelter."

The maid stopped, jerking her head up. It couldn't escape Ueno's attention.

"T-That was just an example! I don't care. I don't need more money!" She grabbed the fork, stabbing a piece of salmon.

"As you wish." The maid went, took a number of the clothes, and went away. After a few minutes, she returned with a big hanger on wheels, collecting the clothes. She needed to make four rounds to bring everything out.

When the maid finished, she returned to collect empty plates. A small smile appeared on her face. The young lady refused to eat properly in the last year, always leaving half of her meals.

"I enjoyed the mean," Ueno said, scrolling on her mobile phone.

"I understand." The maid bowed, beaming with smiles as she left.

Ueno then studied, busying her mind to push everything unneeded away. Hours later, she stretched, finding a plate with cookies and a glass of juice next to her.

She didn't notice who brought it, but the face of the maid came to her mind. Taking a bite, she turned her head as she thought she had heard a squeaking sound.
