Jeremy's POV
I ran as fast as I could until my legs were burning and I was out of breath. I heard footsteps, but pushed myself further. When I did stop running, I noticed it was sunrise, but you could barely see it with the dark clouds in the way. Another thing I realized, is that I've never seen this part of town, if this was still my town.
I panicked for a second thinking, Ohnoohnoohnoohno.
"How am I going to get home?!" I whispered to myself. Then I saw a bus stop. "Right!" I said and then sat down. I looked up at the sky and took off my work hat, once again noticing the dark clouds. I swear if it rains while I'm at this bus stop... I thought, and then, as if on cue, it started to rain.
I sighed to my self as the rain got harder, and I dashed over to a building for cover. The rain soon became a downpour.
After a while of waiting, I saw the bus down the road, and so I got ready to run to the bus stop. The bus was going pretty fast, and I wasn't sure if it was going to stop. I quickly ran out but the bench, bus the bus sped right by, going through a puddle and drenching me.
I sighed and sat down on the bench. So much for trying not to get wet. I suddenly remembered I had a phone in my pocket. I whipped it out to check the time, but the screen was really messed up. Can this get any worse? I thought to myself, and then my question was answered.
A loud crack of thunder shook me a little, after I saw the Lightning strike not to far away. Of course.
I got frustrated and threw my phone into the street, my screen shattering, and a car driving right over it.

I looked down at my watch, thank god it was waterproof, and it said 8:39 am. Looks like I'm not going to school today.
I still hadn't seen a bus pass by, and the rain didn't look like it was going to stop for a while. Surprisingly, nobody had passed me on the sidewalk yet. I sighed to myself and started to count the cars.
One.
Two.
Three.
I was on four, when a sickening thought came to mind.
What's my dad going to do when I come home this late?
I tried to look in the cars to see who it was. It was a stupid game but it kept me busy.
An old couple.
A mom and dad talking, with who I presume were siblings in the back.
A teen girl by herself.
My dad.
An old man and his-
Wait my dad?!
I nearly turned to stone when I recognized him. He kept driving along, oblivious to his soaking wet son, shivering on the bench. Well this day is going great.
Mike's POV
I drove down the road to the supermarket. I couldn't even remember the last time I went to the supermarket for food... I usually just stole something from the gross kitchen at fazfuck's.
It was raining pretty hard, so I had to drive just a bit slower. But that didn't stop me from purposely driving through all the puddles on the road. Don't judge, it makes driving just a bit more fun.
I adjusted my beanie and drove through the first puddle.
It was the fifth huge puddle I went through, when I noticed I had splashed a person on a bench. Although they already looked drenched.
"Oh shit." I said aloud, and looked in the review mirror. They were sitting, staring at the ground, a familiar hat next to them.
"Heh, that kinda looks like my hat."
Then I noticed they were also wearing a uniform that resembled mine...
Wait was that Jeremy?!
I checked to see if any cars were behind me, and there wasn't, so I pulled over.
I quickly grabbed my umbrella from the passenger seat and got out of the car. I opened it and shut the car door.
I sped walked onto the sidewalk, towards the bench. I saw the guy clearer now, and it was no doubt Jeremy.
He was soaking wet and shivering. Not to mention tired. Has he been out here since work?!
I was a few feet from the bench when I called out his name.
Jeremy's POV
"Jeremy!" I heard. I turned to my left and saw Mike standing there with a n umbrella.
Oh no.
I quickly stood up and began to back up. I couldn't face him after I did that. He seemed to have saw that, and cautiously took a step forward.
"Jeremy, I don't care about what happened earlier, don't worry about it!" He said.
I froze in my tracks, and pushed some of the hair sticking to my head out of my face. I was going to say something, but when I had reached up, I had touched the scrape on my chin. I flinched and quickly put my hand back down.
Mike, noticing me stopping, rushed over. He put the umbrella over both of us.
"Woah your chin!" He said, gently pushing my head up so he could see it.
I gently pushed his hand away.
"It's fine, don't worry about it." I said.
"How long have you been out here?" He asked worriedly.
"Uh, s-since work.." I answered. He hesitated for a second before asking another question.
"Do you know where you are?" He asked, motioning around us.
I paused for a moment,
"No..."
He sighed, grabbed my hand, and pulled me towrds his car.
"H-Hey!" I said startled by the sudden gesture. "Where are we going?" I asked
"I'm bringing you home." He said. "I made you run away, now I need to fix it." He said in a guilty tone.
I yanked my hand away.
"B-But I'll get your c-car wet!" I said, stumbling on my words.
"Jeremy, just let me take you home. I don't care if there's water in my car." Mike said, grabbing my hand once again, leading me to his car.
He opened the door, and motioned for me to get in. I hestatied, then sat down inside. Mike then shut the door. The car wasn't old, but it also wasn't a new one.
Mike got in on the other side, shutting the door behind him.
"Where do you live?" Mike asked.

Mike's POV
We finally pulled into Jeremy's house, and there was already a car there. Jeremy's eyes widened when he saw the car.
"You alright?" I asked, putting a hand on his shoulder. He snapped his head up and looked at me.
"Y-yeah!" He answered a bit too quickly. he opened the door and started to get out. "S-See you tonight!" He said, waved, then ran to the front door.
"Okay..?" I said, reaching over to shut the door he left open.
I watched as Jeremy went inside, but not two minutes later, I heard yelling.
The fuck? I thought as I listened.
"Where the hell have you been?!" I heard an older voice yell. Are they talking to Jeremy?! I thought as anger boiled up inside of me. He was just out in the pouring rain for God knows how long! He doesn't need that!
I almost got out of the car, when I remembered the last time I interfered with a family argument. I reached up and took off my beanie, rubbing the thick, white scars on my head.
