21) Everything is falling apart

"Oh, I thought I'll take you out for dinner today but I don't think that's possible now." Zen says and Kai pouts.

"We can still go." Kai says in a low voice and Zen chuckles. "No, honey. You're not in a condition to go. We'll eat at home only." Why does Zen have to be so nice?

Kai washes up while Zen goes downstairs to order the maids to prepare dinner for himself and Kai. His parents have gone to his dad's best friend's house and they'll probably come over tomorrow.

They have a hearty dinner, Kai feels refreshed, forgetting the issue at hand for now and enjoys Zen's company.

They both go for a stroll in the garden and steal a few kisses here and there and return to their room where Kai finally tells Zen about what happened in college as both of them sit with their backs against the headboard holding each other's hands.

"It's reported that many naked pictures of that girl were released online and were distributed among the students. And almost five videos of her having sex. The boys are different in all clips so she got bullied and everyone labeled her a whore. It didn't phase the boys included in the video though and today we found the girls dead body in her dorm room. She slit her wrists and bled till death." Zen shakes his head as he sends a silent prayer for the girl's soul to rest in peace.

"The boys weren't questioned?" he asks to which Kai sighs dejectedly. "The authorities didn't question anyone. They just wanted to suppress the matter and forget it but the students didn't let it happen. The videos were all removed the day she reported this. The investigation will start tomorrow, I guess. She didn't leave any suicide note. We really don't know what lead her to take such a step."

"Hmm, when did this happen? The leaking of the videos, I mean." Zen asks. "A week ago. she reported it two days later and today, the seventh day, she took her life."

"No case of bullying her was reported but I saw stuff on social media. The comments were so nasty, they made me shiver in disgust. Online freedom has given people way too much freedom that they forget their limits. Their parents would be ashamed if they ever see what their children do online."

"They're all bullies." Zen shakes his head.

"I just hope university board don't put pressure to close the case on the girl's parents. They'll come here tomorrow. They live overseas."

"Don't worry, Kai. She will get justice." Zen says reassuringly and pecks his forehead.

"Kai, tomorrow my father's best friend and his family will visit us. Can you make it back home early?" Zen asks. Kai ponders over it for a while before answering.

"I think I will stay at the campus tomorrow and help the students if they face any problem during the police investigation." Zen is confused at Kai's answer. What is he saying?

"You should be home, Kai. I'm talking about you coming back early and you're saying you won't come back at all."

"I'll have to be locked in the room, what's the use? I can help the students instead if I stay at the college." Kai frowns.

"You're not staying in the room. You have to be with me during the dinner. We're going to close a huge deal with them and it will give us a big start in international business and I want us all to be present for it. It's a family celebration." Zen says a little harshly making Kai glare at him. Why is Zen scolding him? How is Kai supposed to know that he has to attend the dinner and not be locked inside the room like always?

Zen sighs as he gets the message behind Kai's glare and pulls him closer, mumbling a sorry and gives a sniff kiss on his cheeks.

"I will come home early." Mumbles Kai, making Zen smile at him.
