She walked down the corridor with Jasper Jordan. She didn't know where he was taking her, but Jasper had promised it would be exciting. Spending time with him almost always was. It was close to curfew and adrenaline had kicked in. They could've been caught at any moment.
She couldn't deny her feelings for the tall, lanky, dark-haired boy that was her best friend. She looked up at him and saw the stars shining in the goggles that he always wore on top of his head. His fingers were tightly laced into hers. His hand was warm and hers was cold, like they almost always were.
"Can't you just tell me where we're going already?!" she whispered to him.
He chuckled and squeezed her hand a little tighter as he dragged her along. "I've told you so many times already, T. It's a surprise," he replied, calling her by the nickname he made for her.
"But the suspense is just killing me, J!" she replied.
He didn't respond. They made a sharp turn, heading down another corridor. T had never been in this part of the ship before, and she could tell that not a lot of people hadn't been here for a while either. They turned another corner and stopped in a doorway.
"We're here," he told her.
She let go of his hand and walked forward cautiously. She stood in what seemed to be an old viewing deck. This place had to have the best view of space in the whole ship. Why would they keep this hidden?
She wanted to ask Jasper, but when she turned around, she saw another boy their age standing by his side. He was a little shorter than Jasper, but he was at least five inches taller than T was. He had jet-black hair that swept to the side, a prominent jawline, and sharp cheekbones. The boy caught her by surprise, and she couldn't deny the fact that he was attractive.
"Jasper," she said, "Who is this?"
"This," he replied, reaching around and resting his arm across the boy's shoulders, "is Monty Green. I wanted my best friend to meet my other best friend -- he's kinda like my brother."
The boy, Monty, smiled at her slightly. "You must be Theresa," he said to her.
She nodded. "I usually go by Tessa, or T if I'm hanging around Jasper," she replied. "But you can call me Theresa if you'd like."
Monty hesitated, and Jasper removed his arm from Monty's shoulder. "T sounds good," Monty said.
Jasper ran towards her and wrapped his arms around her, lifting her off of the ground and twirling her around. She felt her stomach do a little dance. He put her back down and she couldn't help but giggle. "Isn't this view amazing!" he exclaimed.
But T could care less about the view, and it seemed that Monty felt the same way.

She came back to consciousness and the first thing she felt was pain. It was just about everywhere. Her back, her head, her arms, and her legs all felt as if they were on fire. She opened her eyes and saw unfamiliar surroundings, followed by familiar-looking people.
"And she's awake. Would you look at that, Bell?" a boy said. The room was blurry, but she could make out the two people that were sitting on two other sides of the room.
"Wh-where am I?" Theresa croaked, her voice was hoarse and her throat was sore. She couldn't remember anything.
"You're in the Ark's little makeshift prison," the same boy replied to her. Her vision started to clear, things becoming easier to see now. She recognized the interior, and she thought she would've been on the Ark. But it was the two boys in there with her that made her realize where she was.
