“So will you tell me where we’re going now?” Emery asked, annoyed from the passenger’s seat. I smiled and grabbed his hand from his lap. I looped it through mine and squeezed it tight.
It was dark and the stars were shining. We were driving down a lonely dirt road, I couldn’t get a reservation anywhere because it was short notice but I came up with something even better.
I looked over at Emery. He looked more amazing than ever. He wore a white button up shirt with long sleeves and black skinny jeans showing off his nice butt. His black hair was spiked up in the emo/scene style and his eyes twinkled. His snake bites, that I never knew he had, were below his pink lips, twinkling in the low lighting. A light coat of eyeliner made his grey eyes pop even more. They were glowing more than usual, showing gleams of excitement and love.
I could barely take my eyes off him. Luckily, I didn’t have to. I parked the car in the flowery meadow and opened the car door. Emery reached for his handle but I stopped him.
“No, no. I got it.” I said running around the car to open his door for him. He chuckled and got out, clinging to my chest as he looked around. He looked up at me with one eyebrow raised.
“Are you sure you’re not going to rape me?”
“Do I look like a rapist to you?” I snorted. He looked at me closer.
“Well, maybe in a certain light.”
I chuckled and shut the door behind him. I opened the back door and pulled out a wooden picnic basket. I grabbed his small hand in mine and led him over to the grass. I laid a blanket down and gestured for him to sit down. He giggled and lay down on the blanket. I sat down beside him and smoothed his hair back.
“I did a good job, didn’t I?” I beamed. He nodded and reached up to caress my face.
“I couldn’t think of anything better.” He whispered. I bowed down to kiss him sweetly. He kissed me back as though it was natural. I pulled back and smiled, grabbing the picnic basket. He beamed.
“What do you have?”
“Stuff.” I chuckled. He laughed and kicked his legs.
“I love stuff!” He winked. I smirked and put my hand over his eyes. He stuck out his tongue, trying to lick my hand. I laughed and kissed his forehead.
“Shh, close your eyes.” I said quietly. He sighed and rolled his eyes. He closed them and I moved my hand away. I grabbed a container of chocolate cake out of the basket. I found a plastic fork and scooped some cake onto the fork.
“Open your mouth, darlin’.”
He opened his mouth and I put the cake gently inside. He closed his lips around the fork. I pulled it from his mouth and smiled. He made a noise as he chewed and smiled.
“Well, aren’t you cheesy?” He said with a mouth full. I frowned and wiped his mouth.
“Do you not like cheesy?” I asked sadly. He opened his eyes and swallowed. He leaned up quickly and pecked my lips.
“I love it.” He beamed. I smiled and pushed him back lightly.
“How’d the cake taste?” I asked leaning to the side. His eyes twinkled. He took another bite.
“It’s amazing! I love the frosting! Feed me more?” He exclaimed. I chuckled and nodded, leaning down. I licked frosting off the corner of his mouth and pulled back leaving him blushing.
“I made it from scratch as soon as I left your house to get ready.” I said with a smile. His eyes widened slightly.
“You bake to?!” He said mouth full. I nodded. He swallowed. “Damn, you really are perfect!”
