Chapter 22: Messages

Over the next twelve hours Thor and I were stuck in so many meetings with Director Fury and the Council it was almost like a soap opera. One minute we’d come to a conclusion but the next minute, one Council member would reject the idea completely and we’d have to re-strategise

Finally, Fury called for a break and I felt as if an elephant had been shoved off my chest and shoulders. The amount of stress that was weighing on Thor and I now was incredible. Thor had specifically asked that the rest of the Avengers not be informed of the current issue. That surprised even me, I didn’t understand why he didn’t want anyone involved but that became abundantly clear when he pulled me away during the break.

“Noel, you need to leave here.” He said slowly, quietly, so no one but he and I could hear.
“I’m not leaving, Thor.” I frowned, “I helped figure this out, I can help.”
“That’s exactly why you must leave.” Thor cut right to the chase. “Those messages we found –the one that was sent to you on the hellicarrier during the raid, Enchantress was the sender.”
I didn’t bother asking him how he knew about the messages, Thor could be surprisingly sneaky and whoever tried to keep anything from him was crazy, because you couldn’t.

“I thought you were returning, Thor. You’re the only one who can.” I said, confusion clouding my words.
“One of two people on Earth.” He clarified. “Enchantress is here. I can feel it. That sorceress reeks of dark magic.”
I nodded slowly, catching onto what he was saying, “You want me to contact her.”

Thor nodded, a wide, goofy smile spreading across his face as he started spilling his brilliant plan to me.

“Reply to a message, set up a meeting. If she agrees to take you back to Asgard with her, get in touch with Loki. He’ll be under close guard in the prisons, but you can get through the security –I know you can.” Thor said, with such devotion and belief in me it almost made me cry, I’d never had someone so confident in me in my life. Although, I didn’t quite understand why I had to get in contact with Loki.

“Why?”
 Thor elaborated. “Your powers are very similar. The way he duplicates himself, he manipulates light waves so it seems like magic. I believe if you spend some time with him, you may be able to pick up that skill. That also brings me to another issue I need you to attend to in Asgard.”

“You want me to take the throne?” I asked sarcastically, smirking and chuckling. Thor rolled his eyes

“Not quite.” Thor mused, “I need you to fix something. Something that can only be fixed by light, science and magic. I believe you’re the only one who can do what we need.”
I didn’t need any further explanation.

“Thor. You’re joking.” The words echoed in my mind. The God of Thunder nodded, knowing I was on the right track. The impossible track. I wasn’t even sure Stephen Hawking was capable of fixing a problem this big.

How the hell was I going to fix the bi-frost?

It took me a few days, but I finally got a reply to the message I sent to Enchantress. I was to meet her in a month’s time outside the Stark Tower at noon.

Thor and I went into full on planning mode; we hauled ourselves into the bunker in the new S.H.I.E.L.D Headquarters with stacks of books three feet high. I had to study up on all things Asgardian if I was going to live there until I could fix the bi-frost. Which I had no idea how I was going to do, by the way.

I thought I was going to do what I did best –trial and error.

Author's Note: Hey guys! So, only one more chapter to go until this is done (possibly an epilogue, I'm not sure yet :) )

But! What did you think? Noel has to go to Asgard -what!? Has to come face to face with the scary sorceress lady who is Enchantress!?

So much drama xD
